PSSSSSSSSSST: NO GOSSIPING ALLOWED!!!

Recently, Pope Francis addressed areas of understanding concerning gossip, slander, and all which lies in the blackhole of this problem; in which case, there needs to be constant reminders to all of us, for lives have been ruined, lost, and/or, people have suffered greatly in the wake of those who insist on discrediting others...

The worst kind of gossip, is that which never surfaces, so, the person being talked about doesn't have a chance, ever, to prove themselves, yay, or nay! This kind of gossip has ruined reputations, thwarted opportunities, has kept potential associates removed, has made people very ill, and has even caused death! The people who aspire to cause far reaching, and long lasting problems for others, especially those who are undeserving of such, have serious problems! First of all, they are totally non-confrontational, as they weave their webs of lies, and keeping adding to it throughout time, therefore, the person(s) they have targeted, not only rarely, have but an idea that they are being targeted, and so have no chance to prove themselves one way or another, and then the conspiracy is added to by people who don't take the time to consider what they are hearing, instead just jumping on the bandwagon with those who started this unkind, unnecessary affliction for another human being. IF a person is deserving, the matter takes on a whole new light, but still, is not right...

People FORGET easily, that NONE, NOT ONE is above reproach, and that we should tend to the beam in our own eye before we point out the splinter in that of another! THE LORD'S WISDOM IS SOUND concerning such matters, and such instruction SHOWS perfectly, what is sown by the heart!!!

Gossip in these times, especially because of the Internet, is WAY over the top, and has become a past time for too many, as they ruthlessly wrong some! IS there anyone who has not been the target of such wickedness? I doubt it, but some suffer extensively more than others! It IS a form of bullying, and unfortunately, spreads through generations, because Parents, Families, and others associated with these, gossip blatantly in front of their Children; make fun of others, and decide that so and so is not worthy of being treated with respect, and regard until proven unworthy! I can SO understand WHY Pope Francis voiced instruction in this area!!!

Opinions are one thing, to damage, and destroy someone's life with unfounded, or unwarranted gossip, slander, libel, and so on, is more than wrong! One MUST remember that what one conspires against others, has a way by *GOD* of coming back on their own heads, AND IF someone claims CHRIST as their LORD, LOVE IS THE WAY, in which case, we don't bring intentional harm to anyone else!!!

THINK before the tongue gets the best of you, and if it does, repent, and correct what damage it has incurred instead of letting it increase through time; further fueling of the fires of disrespect, and disregard for the lives of others...

There are 50 or so BIBLE verses concerning gossip, which spans through to other areas, so there IS ample instruction!!!

EXODUS 20: 16...
"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

EXODUS 23: 1...
"You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.

JOHN 7: 51...
"Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?"

Alas, that many, who are for a time restrained, and who speak highly of the word of Jesus, speedily lose their convictions, and go on in their sins! People are foolishly swayed by outward motives in matters of eternal moment, are willing even to be damned for fashion's sake. As the wisdom of God often chooses things which men despise, so the folly of men commonly despises those whom God has chosen. The Lord brings forward his weak and timid disciples, and sometimes uses them to defeat the designs of his enemies.

And it is next to a miracle of providence, that no greater number of religious persons have been murdered in the world, by the way of perjury and pretence of law, when so many thousands hate them, who make no conscience of false oaths. Wisdom and holiness make a man's face to shine, yet will not secure men from being treated badly. What shall we say of man, a rational being, yet attempting to uphold a religious system by false witness and murder! And this has been done in numberless instances. But the blame rests not so much upon the understanding, as upon the heart of a fallen creature, which is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Yet the servant of the Lord, possessing a clear conscience, cheerful hope, and Divine consolations, may smile in the midst of danger and death.

EPHESIANS 4: 25...
Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.

Notice the particulars wherewith we should adorn our Christian profession. Take heed of every thing contrary to truth. No longer flatter or deceive others. God's people are children who will not lie, who dare not lie, who hate and abhor lying. Take heed of anger and ungoverned passions. 

If there is just occasion to express displeasure at what is wrong, and to reprove, see that it be without sin. We give place to the devil, when the first motions of sin are not grievous to our souls; when we consent to them; and when we repeat an evil deed. This teaches that as sin, if yielded unto, lets in the devil upon us, we are to resist it, keeping from all appearance of evil. Idleness makes thieves.

BEING Christian is about comm'UNITY'; a UNITY IN CHRIST who IS THE HEAD of THE CHURCH, in whom we are enjoined as members of THE BODY! HE HAS taught us, and we should pay heed, especially in areas where we ARE able to resist temptation, such as the ugly matter of gossip, slander, libel, and so forth!!!
