FAITH: PETER'S EXAMPLE OF WALKING ON WATER...

FAITH is an area of discipline that HAS to be perfected in order to be empowered, yet, begins with but a decision! Like when Peter stepped onto the water, to approach CHRIST who was standing on the water, nearby; he took a leap of FAITH, but suddenly, his FAITH was gone. CHRIST rescued him, and said, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" 

Christ bade Peter come, not only that he might walk upon the water, and so know his Lord's power, but that he might know his own weakness. And the Lord often lets his servants have their choice, to humble and prove them, and to show the greatness of his power and grace. When we look off from Christ, and look at the greatness of opposing difficulties, we shall begin to fall; but when we call to him, he will stretch out his arm, and save us. 

In the mind, there exists that which creates doubt; the enemy, the oppressor, the chatter that tells us we CAN'T do this, or that, EVEN IF THE LORD has told us we CAN! We KNOW TO TRUST THE LORD, yet, we often fail in belief of this knowledge, having been raised in the deceptive negatives of this world. Doubt DENIES, FAITH PROVES...

CHRIST JESUS tells us IF we have FAITH the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains; and we don't believe HIM, OR, we fear having that kind of power, as we have been raised to deny certain empowerment within, as if it were impossible, or wrong. VERY devious is the enemy, think???

Peter, eventually, mastered his FAITH, and after CHRIST had ascended, his FAITH aided him in building UP the CHURCH; he performed many wonders, signs, and miracles; healing people, inspiring, and guiding them TO THE LORD! Of course, he could not master his FAITH without THE LORD, but, that he placed enough FAITH IN THE LORD, that THE LORD, in THE HOLY SPIRIT, worked through him, is KEY!!!

CHRIST tells us not to look to the right, nor to the left, meaning KEEP our sights ON HIM, AT ALL TIMES, that we are NOT dissuaded in doing what HE has bid we do! When Peter stepped onto the water, the strong wind (deception), denied him the will to continue TO THE LORD! He faltered by allowing the fear, which is NOT of *GOD*, nor of LOVE, to defeat his intention; IF he had denied the chatter, he would have defeated the enmity that keeps us grounded to the world...

Christ is the great Saviour; those who would be saved, must come to him, and cry to him, for salvation; we are never brought to this, till we find ourselves sinking: the sense of need drives us to him. He rebuked Peter. Could we but believe more, we should suffer less. The weakness of faith, and the prevailing of our doubts, displease our Lord Jesus, for there is no good reason why Christ's disciples should be of a doubtful mind. Even in a stormy day he is to them a very present help. None but the world's Creator could multiply the loaves, none but its Governor could tread upon the waters of the sea: the disciples yield to the evidence, and confess their faith. They were suitably affected, and worshipped Christ. He that comes to God, must believe; and he that believes in God, will come, Heb 11:6...

FAITH is paramount, FAITH is a necessity, FAITH is a saving GRACE! It is NOT easy for us to have the kind of FAITH we need, especially, if we remain attached to the world instead of THE LORD, or, try to live in the world, and HIM, which ultimately, cannot be! Coming closer to THE LORD, knowing HIM, more and more, and living as HE bids us to, greatly increases FAITH! FAITH WILL be tried, and tested; we are being refined IN HIS name, yet, there is NO other way to HIM, therefore, our motivation is clear; let us continually PRAY for improvement! BY FAITH WE LIVE; this is not a slogan, this is a FACT of safety, and direction TO THE LORD!!!
