Scores of people imagine themselves to be far more than they are, in which case, THE LORD SHALL show them THE TRUTH! Power in the human realm is like a drug, taking over the senses, and denying what is good for all, BUT THE LORD'S POWERS are like a healing balm, and ARE a TRUE antidote to the wrongs the world creates! People wield their powers to stir up fear, and endless negativity, WHILE *GOD* USES HIS POWERS to sustain, and build UP! Our powers are limited, thus many misuse them in efforts to increase them, through wrongs; THE LORD'S POWERS ARE LIMITLESS, and can reach through ANY thing, and ANY one in CREATION! Even some of those whom CLAIM HIM as their LORD, attempt to exist in their own powers, which only takes them farther from HIM, and TRUTH, and in the process hardens their hearts, their minds, and confuses the emotions; they profit nothing in the long run from their quest of power, AND SHALL, not only SEE, but EXPERIENCE THE TRUTH OF POWER FROM THE LORD *GOD*...
The more we cast aside HIS POWER(S), the more we stoke HIS WRATH, which IS evident in diverse ways, such as famine, droughts, diseases, pestilence, wild acts of nature, earthquakes, continued distress(es), enmity, and well, the list IS extensive, AND CAN destroy countries quickly, or slowly over time! The more we adhere to the world, and it's ways, and IGNORE HIS WILL, the more calamities we shall endure...
REMEMBER, THE LORD IS PATIENT, and DOES allow suffering FOR our own good, THAT we might be humble, and NOT PROUD, and THAT we TURN TO HIM! When we get to the point of existing in ways which deny HIM in us, and instead, think, speak, and act according to the world, thus being hardened, we CAN expect HIM TO react! As we treat each other badly, and are hateful, spiteful, and otherwise contentious towards the other, we SHOULD expect consequences, and repercussions, both NOW, and LATER, FOR WE HAVE been instructed, and HAVE been given choices to either FOLLOW HIM, or the world!!!
NEVER stop studying, or learning what is PLEASING TO THE LORD, and what is bearing fruit worthy of HIM. Fall not into the ways of the world, and use wisdom, and discretion at all times, according to HIS WILL, and HIS PLAN! IF we ARE OF CHRIST JESUS, we ARE dead to the world, and ALIVE IN THE SPIRIT, therefore, we REFLECT HIM in our thoughts, words, actions, and reactions, as often as is feasible, as we comply TO HIS WORK IN us, THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT, which IS a process, to which we ARE enjoined!!!
THINKING we are something, WHEN HONESTLY, we are NOTHING WITHOUT THE LORD *GOD* IS one of our biggest downfalls, and that which causes the woes we face every day, all of which goes back to pride, which IS that which THE LORD *GOD* DETESTS, and COMMANDS us to cast aside in humbling ourselves before HIM...
ZECHARIAH 7: 9-14...
9+++“Thus has the LORD of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother;
10+++and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’
11+++“But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears from hearing.
12+++“They made their hearts like flint so that they could not hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets; therefore great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.
13+++“And just as He called and they would not listen, so they called and I would not listen,” says the LORD of hosts;
14+++“but I scattered them with a storm wind among all the nations whom they have not known. Thus the land is desolated behind them so that no one went back and forth, for they made the pleasant land desolate.”
God's judgements upon Israel of old for their sins, were written to warn Christians. The duties required are, not keeping fasts and offering sacrifices, but doing justly and loving mercy, which tend to the public welfare and peace. The law of God lays restraint upon the heart.
But they filled their minds with prejudices against the word of God. Nothing is harder than the heart of a presumptuous sinner. See the fatal consequences of this to their fathers. Great sins against the Lord of hosts, bring great wrath from his power, which cannot be resisted. Sin, if regarded in the heart, will certainly spoil the success of prayer. The Lord always hears the cry of the broken-hearted penitent; yet all who die impenitent and unbelieving, will find no remedy or refuge from miseries which while here they despised and defied, but which they then will not be able to bear.
