In THE FIRST PLACE, *GOD* IS NOT human, HE IS AN ENTITY, SPIRIT, and IS *GOD* OVER ALL, and EVERYTHING...
Excuse me, and sorry, but what the heck difference does it make if *GOD* be masculine? HE inspired, and guided the writings in THE BIBLE, and HE CHOSE to refer to HIMSELF in the masculine sense!!!
I guess I do not feel less as a Woman by effects that are age old, like some do! Masculinity's place in this world or in THE BIBLE does NOT interfere with me being a Woman; it does NOT infringe upon my rights, nor my femininity! I SERIOUSLY, do NOT understand that some are driven to sinning in order to feel that Women are being treated fairly, or equally!!!
In the last words of THE BIBLE, it says, and yes, there are cross references...
REVELATION 22: 18-19...
18+++I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;
19+++and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.…
I testify unto every man that heareth.—Omit “For,” and read, I testify to every one that hears . . . The “I” is emphatic; it introduces the final warning; the revelation must not be tampered with. If any one shall have added to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if any one shall have taken away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his portion from the tree of life, and out of the holy city which are written (or printed) in this book. We may compare Deuteronomy 4:2; Deuteronomy 12:32.
The words are a solemn protest against the spirit which handles rashly or deceitfully the word of God; which adds its own thoughts, or makes its wishes the parent of its interpretations; which dilutes the force of its warnings, or impoverishes the fullness of its promises. The right of continual access to the tree of life was the promise of Revelation 22:14; this right or freedom is forfeited by those who deal falsely or faithlessly by the words of Christ here. In a minor degree, it is true that those who leave this book unstudied and unprayed over, lose much spiritual sustenance and comfort. How much more do they lose who trifle with it, ignore its spiritual teachings, and sin against the laws of that kingdom whose progress it so vividly portrays.
REALLY what difference does it make if *GOD* prefers a masculine descriptor to HIS ENTITY? HOW does it impose upon females, or belittle them???
Since those demanding a change in THE BIBLE are female Bishops, it puzzles me that they are ignoring the BIGGER, and more PERTINENT issues involved in THE CHURCH, such as TEACHING WHOLLY THE WORD OF *GOD*, and PREPARING people FOR THE KINGDOM, along with all which is involved in getting there!!!
There are SO many problems, troubles, and issues involving the safety of *GOD'S* people in this world, which NEED to be taken care of, worked through, and corrected, and so, time spent on such things as this seems a waste! People are confused enough, so it is not to anyone's gain to confuse us more with such matters! I am not judging, nor condemning, I am TRYING to figure out WHY this would ever have made it through the world as being important to THE CHURCH! IF a Woman feels powerless over something such as this, I have to wonder where her heart really is! It makes NOT an iota of sense to me, but then I do not feel threatened in any way by masculinity, because I AM Woman, and AM VITAL TO the world, TO HIS WILL, and well, forward my usefulness goes! My WORTH resides in THE LORD *GOD*, and is far more than I could ask for...
Let us USE THE WORD OF *GOD* FOR the BUILDING UP of THE CHURCH, and THE KINGDOM through utilization of ALL HE HAS set before us to teach, encourage, and guide one another, while making GOOD use of time BY SERVING HIM, and others, and KEEPING THE TRUTH ALIVE AS IS WRITTEN, NOT as perceived by humans....
