Sin is one of the most complex areas of understanding, and yet something NO ONE, NOT ONE is exempt from in this world!!!
Comparing sins does NOT have anywhere to go; it is an empty measure, and proves nothing more than self-inclination, and holier than thou mentality! WHO can HONESTLY say they do not sin, or that their sin does not matter, but others sins do???
We SHOULD be working through our own sins, and other than for the sake of safety, and progression in THE LORD, should stop worrying about other people's sins! Believe it, EACH of us has enough errs to correct which will keep us mighty busy! It ISN'T that we will be perfected in this time, or that we can do it on our own, instead, it is that we RECOGNIZE sin for what it is, and AIM to correct it, even eradicate it from our existence in this realm! IF we spent more time with THE LORD, and seeking HIS assistance in our own growth, and development, we would be growing past the need to find fault with other people, and we just might be able to help others by example, and increased knowledge of THE LORD...
We might not be doing what Jane, or Joe Doe are doing, but if we stop long enough to nitpik them to pieces for their errs, we are sinning, for we are judging, and condemning, both of which belong to THE LORD! YES, we can use the powers of discernment for our safety, and development, but NOT for the sake of gossip, or demeaning, or any other negative reason...
Taunting another for their sins while ignoring our own is very immature, and proves our lack of understanding! SO many of us are like Schoolyard bullies, and acting very wrongly as we imagine we are better! EVERY person will have their moment before THE LORD, and HIS HAND CHOSEN JUDGES, and HAS their own relationship WITH HIM, whether that is good, or not, is HIS business, not ours, except for the HOPES of bringing someone TO HIM, in which case, there is NO pointing of fingers, or placing ourselves above another, instead pointing THROUGH our growth, and development HIS POWERS to REGENERATE sinners!!!
There are MANY sins I loathe, and detest, but I am NOT in position to place myself over them! Not only this, HOW can we know what the finer, deeper workings involved are? HOW do we know WHY a person does what they do? Perhaps THE LORD is using them to TEACH others, and so forth?!
This is especially negative when it is against our fellow Christians, for when we act in such ways, we are NOT acting in LOVE, nor in SPIRIT, instead, worldly, and fleshy, AND placing stumblingblocks in the way of those they DEEM unfit! ROMANS 15: 1...
Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.
There are about 100 BIBLE mentions of NOT judging one another, and then as many which correspond with such behaviours! MATTHEW 7: 1-5...
1+++“Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
2+++“For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
3+++“Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
4+++“Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye?
5+++“You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
We must judge ourselves, and judge of our own acts, but not make our word a law to everybody. We must not judge rashly, nor pass judgment upon our brother without any ground.
We must not make the worst of people. Here is a just reproof to those who quarrel with their brethren for small faults, while they allow themselves in greater ones. Some sins are as motes, while others are as beams; some as a gnat, others as a camel. Not that there is any sin little; if it be a mote, or splinter, it is in the eye; if a gnat, it is in the throat; both are painful and dangerous, and we cannot be easy or well till they are got out. That which charity teaches us to call but a splinter in our brother's eye, true repentance and godly sorrow will teach us to call a beam in our own. It is as strange that a man can be in a sinful, miserable condition, and not be aware of it, as that a man should have a beam in his eye, and not consider it; but the god of this world blinds their minds. Here is a good rule for reprovers; first reform thyself.
OUR role is to work on ourselves FOR THE LORD'S GLORY, the greater good of others, and for the sake of our spirits, which belong to *GOD*, and are to be freed from the prison of the flesh! This KEEPS us busy enough that we aren't neglecting our duties to HIS WILL! LOVE doesn't find pleasure in other people's wrongs, and doesn't boast of our rights; instead, it ALLOWS for THE LORD to work through, in, and around ALL in existence, and UPLIFTS as it can, that more, and more step INTO it/HIM!!!
There ARE ways which are PLEASING to THE LORD, to bring sinners TO HIM, but they do not include using demeaning methods! Therefore, one has to REALLY understand HIS WILL, WAYS, and WORD, as well as their own hearts, and actions, in order to do so!!!
I KNOW I have sinned, and DO fight sin daily; I am BEING perfected, but it IS a process, and I AM concerned about my own growth FIRST, and FOREMOST! My sins have been shown, and proven to me through HIS GRACE, MERCY, and WILL, and I am inching my way UP that PATH with every GIFT HE HAS bestowed to do so! IF I take time to notice everyone's shortcomings, HOW can I see my own???
1 JOHN 1: 8-10...
8+++If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9+++If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10+++If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
A message from the Lord Jesus, the Word of life, the eternal Word, we should all gladly receive. The great God should be represented to this dark world, as pure and perfect light. As this is the nature of God, his doctrines and precepts must be such. And as his perfect happiness cannot be separated from his perfect holiness, so our happiness will be in proportion to our being made holy.
To walk in darkness, is to live and act against religion. God holds no heavenly fellowship or intercourse with unholy souls. There is no truth in their profession; their practice shows its folly and falsehood.
The eternal Life, the eternal Son, put on flesh and blood, and died to wash us from our sins in his own blood, and procures for us the sacred influences by which sin is to be subdued more and more, till it is quite done away.
While the necessity of a holy walk is insisted upon, as the effect and evidence of the knowledge of God in Christ Jesus, the opposite error of self-righteous pride is guarded against with equal care. All who walk near to God, in holiness and righteousness, are sensible that their best days and duties are mixed with sin. God has given testimony to the sinfulness of the world, by providing a sufficient, effectual Sacrifice for sin, needed in all ages; and the sinfulness of believers themselves is shown, by requiring them continually to confess their sins, and to apply by faith to the blood of that Sacrifice.
Let us plead guilty before God, be humble, and willing to know the worst of our case. Let us honestly confess all our sins in their full extent, relying wholly on his mercy and truth through the righteousness of Christ, for a free and full forgiveness, and our deliverance from the power and practice of sin.
Let us, more and more, REFLECT THE LORD, and season the world with HIS HOLINESS! Let us BE who we say we are! Let HIS SPIRIT be free to do it's magnificent work in us! Let us attend to our own Salvation, that we ARE SHINING as beacons for those trapped in the darkness! Let HIS GLORY RADIATE through our every thought, action, and reaction; not for our sake but for the good of those who NEED to be brought out of the chains of deception! Let us be TRUE to our calling, and let us remember, the enemy is ever near, and even nearer to those who are trying to RISE from such influence(s)! Let us PRAISE THE LORD, and WORSHIP HIS HOLINESS with more than words, let us do so with PROOF of HIM in us! Let us REJOICE that though we are sinners, we HAVE been brought INTO GRACE, and MERCY, and let us EXTEND that GRACE, and MERCY to others, in LOVE, kindness, and patient understanding that NONE, NOT ONE is without err!!!
