There are endless testimonies to the lack of self-control, and willpower in this world, as we see, hear, and experience hourly! It isn't random testimonials, it is world-wide, and increasing as laxity replaces what maintains the willpower of self-control, and as societies become more complacent with what they see, hear, and experience...
Self-control, and willpower are crucial to our time here, and as it is chipped away, life becomes all the more dangerous, incomplete, and disappointing...
The battle of this time is not against flesh, and blood, instead against the evil rulers of this plane, who work through flesh, and blood to accomplish their wish to take us all down with them! We CAN'T do much to resist evil without self-control, and willpower; without knowledge, and understanding; without *GOD*, and being *GODLY*! We are pawns in the war waged by evil to defy *GOD* in HIS LOVE, and CREATION of us; in it's jealousy of us; in it's deep-rooted hatred of us; as is evidenced in the countless actions of humanity in any given moment, as they cross the line, and act away from what is wholesome, right, just, good, and *GOD*!!!
LOVE is anchored, HONOURED, nurtured, and increased by self-control, and willpower, as is FAITH, and FAITHFULNESS! All things good rely on self-control, and willpower in order for their continuance, and growth!!!
In these times, weakness is having it's way with too many; even those we imagine have the willpower to maintain self-control, have areas far beyond such, as they get lost in worldly ways like porn, promiscuity, drugs, riches, and so forth...
Being weak has many roots, but to simply concur that weakness is like a cop-out, and is laziness! No one said that life was supposed to be easy, and certainly the lives of the devout will not be, so, to resign to weaknesses IS to align to them...
We learn as we grow; we also take in valuable lessons from our mistakes, our lack, our refusal to get on track, but we could be spared much, and spare others from much, if we would only consider the WHOLE of what makes up this life, and how IMPERATIVE aligned behaviours, and characters ARE to this whole! If we could only live in *GOD*, and the LOVE HE IS, and, COMMANDS, most of the wrong we are inclined to do, could be avoided, in the understanding of the far-reaching effects it has on all of us! When we act away from *GOD*, people suffer, and that is like a domino effect, because each person affected, or afflicted, is connected to many others who feel the weight of what wrongness leaves behind in it's sad wake...
Discipline of the being is nothing to take lightly, as it produces optimal results, of which self-control, and willpower, along with other components work as one to bring us past what could harm us, and others! No matter what we choose to do in this time, there are consequences, and hopefully, we will LOVE *GOD*, and ourselves enough to free ourselves from the confining chains of inequity, which then, frees those in our path!!!
Believe me, you HAVE the POWER within to overcome what aspires to chain you! You are NOT designed to be weak, weakly, or weakened, and the MIND, if NOT trained to resist, to remain in willful self-control, is the breeding ground of what separates us from *GOD*, what is good, and what makes life happy!!!

There are over 70 BIBLE verses concerning self-control, 100 concerning willpower, 100 concerning resisting, almost 80 concerning resistance, and on the list goes which HONOURS *GOD*, LOVE, others, and our own spirit!!!
A major part of the challenge of this life is to FREE the spirit, because the physical being is NOT our reality, tends to be worldly, and is fading away faster than we anticipate in our clinging to it. The spirit is loosed by all which is of *GOD*, of LOVE, of what is right, just, and good, because that IS THE TRUTH of original LIFE, and ETERNAL life; all of the world is working against THIS TRUTH, and IS chaining too many to it's falsehood(s), which then, DENIES, and DEFIES THE GLORY OF *GOD* as SOVEREIGN RULER OVER ALL!!!
