Sin is SO easy to commit! It is so easy, one has to wonder why? Let us take on a greater understanding of Sin, then, of LOVE, that we are ENABLED to ARISE above it! In the next several posts, we will DEFINE SIN, then, work through the shrouds around it, and, SHOW that LOVE, in FULL understanding, embracing, and, utilization of it's properties, or, powers, DO lead us AWAY from Sin, entirely!!!
Let us begin by defining Sin in all known definitions, or, mentalities...
In the OLD TESTAMENT, SIN is that which disrupts the ORDER of the world WISHED by *GOD*. It is, to me, like a STAIN on the innate GOODNESS of our minds, hearts, and, thus, souls! We must remember one thing at all times, whatever we do in this life, affects the soul, which belongs to *GOD*, but which, is desired by the evil deceiver, that he can keep as many souls from reaching their inherent destination, eternity; it is his fevered, jealous, battle with *GOD* to hinder, then, ruin the chances of the soul's safe return to it's MAKER!!!
In the NEW TESTAMENT, SIN is tied into ORIGINAL SIN, and, is revoked through FAITH, and, LOVE, via CHRIST JESUS, whom died a torturous death that our SINS be over-turned! But, that does NOT mean that we can continue to SIN, IF we have been baptized into the death of CHRIST, as that baptism MEANS that we are also, dead to the world, and, SHOULD be above SIN, HOWEVER, the evil deceiver is NOT going to let that happen easily!!!
Now, we need to understand ORIGINAL SIN, which to Christians, is the occasion where Eve, then, Adam GAVE INTO the temptations of the deceiver, and, ate from the TREE of LIFE, an obvious act of DEFIANCE in the face of *GOD*, as HE instructed them CLEARLY, NOT to eat from this SACRED TREE. So, original SIN proves that SIN is DERIVED from the MIND, then, in ACTION, and, REACTION! This most imperative part of this illustration is that THROUGH their defiance, or, SIN, they brought ON DEATH for all Mankind. In their CREATION, they were NOT to die, but, to LIVE in bliss for all eternity, serving *GOD*, their CREATOR, their FATHER, BUT, that jealous ole' deceiver, knowing full, and, well, that defiance was DEADLY, entered their MINDS, or, the EGOCENTRICITY of their personalities, convincing them, that surely, *GOD* would not end their immortality IF they ate from the TREE, to which they REACTED in his favor, NOT REGARDING the INSTRUCTIONS, or, the LOVE they SHOULD HAVE had, for *GOD*!!!
Some religious Doctrine says that we are NOT tied to original SIN, some implies that we are, which is interesting, at least, for this reason: Since ORIGINAL SIN, ALL of Mankind IS GUILTY of SIN, and, it is written in the WORD, we ARE BORN INTO SIN, and, IN SIN WE SHALL DIE, so, one can assume that we ARE tied into original SIN! There is so much diversity regarding the way which SIN came into our lives, however, that should be put aside, and, instead, we should FOCUS our ATTENTION on UNDERSTANDING SIN, that we CAN OVERCOME, and, ARISE from it, to the best of our abilities!!!
NOTE: THIS SERIES IS NOT TO IMPLY, OR, ADD GUILT, INSTEAD TO AWAKEN CAUTION, AND, RESPONSIBILITY TO RIGHTFUL LIVING! MANY of the world's religious Doctrines USE GUILT to make impact, but, I, personally, do NOT see the NEED to add to the weights of the living, instead, we should come to UNDERSTANDING, then, make decisions BASED upon our awareness!!!
This is a very complex study, so, it will have to be broken up into many segments, that it does not drag on, and, lose it's importance!
There are MANY definitions of SIN, and, theological assessments as well, so, I will attempt to bring forth the most definitive ones, that we can begin our healing, without being further bogged down by information overload! It IS IMPERATIVE that we come to honest terms with SIN, that we can each, make the necessary adjustments to our lives to arise from it's dangers!!!
BEFORE we get into this, you should think about this; it DOESN'T matter IF you ARE Christian, or, not, SIN is intrinsic to life! Now, Christian people BELIEVE, rightfully so, that they are SAVED from their SINS, HOWEVER, MANY of them are erring based on the principle of this gift from *GOD*, IN THAT, the covenant was designed to COVER, or, ERADICATE PAST SINS, note this, PAST SINS, not future ones! Christians whom continue to SIN, especially KNOWINGLY, are living OUTSIDE the covenant, BECAUSE, it clearly states that when you become ONE with CHRIST JESUS THROUGH baptism, YOU DIE of the world, MEANING, you are to LIVE IN HIS EXAMPLE OF HOLINESS, LEAVING all SINFUL natures, and, desires behind! Now, *GOD* KNOWS us better than we do, and, so, understands that some SIN is beyond our understanding, therefore, our control, but, INTENTIONAL, KNOWING SINFULNESS will NOT grant salvation, as you cannot SIN in CHRIST JESUS' name, and, be a part of the LIVING TREE! This is SO difficult for most Christians to embrace, thus, many ARE living in SIN...
It does not matter what religion you are, your heritage, or, your culture, ALL of MANKIND is basically assimilated, we have pretty much the same tendencies, and, so forth, and, our minds function closely related, thus, SIN IS UNIVERSAL in our world, and, NONE, NOT ONE is SINLESS!!!
OK, we will begin with the Dictionary definition(s) of SIN, then, work to the BIBLICAL definitions, that from the standard, every day understanding, we can more readily SEE the BIBLICAL references...
Noah Webster's New International Dictionary of the English Language:
1. (adv., prep., & conj.) Old form of Since.
2. (n.) Transgression of the law of God; disobedience of the divine command; any violation of God's will, either in purpose or conduct; moral deficiency in the character; iniquity; as, sins of omission and sins of commission.
3. (n.) An offense, in general; a violation of propriety; a misdemeanor; as, a sin against good manners.
4. (n.) A sin offering; a sacrifice for sin.
5. (n.) An embodiment of sin; a very wicked person.
6. (n.) To depart voluntarily from the path of duty prescribed by God to man; to violate the divine law in any particular, by actual transgression or by the neglect or nonobservance of its injunctions; to violate any known rule of duty; -- often followed by against.

It is clear that the overall analysis of SIN is as definition #2 depicts; Transgression of the law of God; (Transgression = an act, process, or instance of transgressing: as a : infringement or violation of a law, command, or duty)

any violation of God's will, either in purpose or conduct;
moral deficiency in the character;
iniquity; as, sins of omission and sins of commission.
Now, we can see that it IS easy to SIN, because, daily we commit such things, whether consciously, or not, as is placed upon us from many factors, which include, but, are not exclusive to, upbringing, ignorance, defiance, free will, and, denial of RESPONSIBILITY to *GOD*, and, HIS WILL!!!
We need to think about this, meditate upon it, and, learn from these simple examples before we delve deeper into this, and, so, more to come...
