SLOW down, take it EASY, read THE WORD with intent, and diligence; give it time to meld into the being; it IS imperative TO allow it to seep into the heart, the spirit, the being!!!

Thanksgiving for the LORD's Favor

Psalms 138 (A Psalm of David)
1/ I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
2/ I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
3/ In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
4/ All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
5/ Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.
6/ Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
7/ Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8/ The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me:
thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands... AMEN!!!
One CANNOT earn GRACE, it is HIS own ESSENCE; a gift, still, IF one claims to be IN HIS GRACE, we ARE to, or, OUGHT to, be reflections of that GRACE! 2 CORINTHIANS 6:1, tells us not to take HIS GRACE in vain! This means, living in LOVE, morality, ethics, virtue, righteousness, and, spiritual improvement, TOWARDS, spiritual maturity, WHILE, visibly BEING as LIGHTS, beaming OF *GOD*, beckoning the world, TO THE LIGHT! Righteousness MEANS, conduct in conformity with *GOD'S* WILL, and, "Be HOLY because I AM HOLY!", therefore, indicating that knowledge, wisdom, and, effort, DO, apply TO the righteous!!! NEVER forget, we were grafted in, and, if we do not bear fruit, as a dead branch, we will be pruned out, just as were, the natural branches!!!

We are not saved by works, instead, works PROVE HIM in us: they identify HIS own...
IF I claim ONENESS with *GOD*, through CHRIST JESUS, I am DEAD TO THE WORLD, THUS, LIVING as HIM, which is, hopefully, witnessed IN, and, THROUGH, my every thought, action, and, reaction; MEANING, I am, THROUGH CONSCIOUS application OF THE WORD, HIS COMMANDS, HIS WILL, REFLECTING righteousness, not, merely, FAITH! I become, the TRULY FRUITFUL branch, of THE VINE, the TRUE member of THE BODY/THE CHURCH, CHRIST JESUS, and, TESTIFY, then, GLORIFY, BOLDLY, BY my thoughts, actions, and, reactions, HIS name, because, HE IS WORTHY, and, IN HIS LOVE, has SHOWN me, how I OUGHT to exist, to which, I eagerly, adapt, and, comply!!!

MATTHEW 5:48...

So be perfect,
just as your heavenly Father is perfect

1 PETER 1:14-16...
14/ Like obedient children, do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance
15/ but, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct,
16/ for it is written, "Be holy because I (am) holy."

ROMANS 12:2...
Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
Conduct, in conformity to *GOD'S* WILL, marks the righteous; it is NOT because of guilt, or, ancient Laws, but, because of LOVE; LOVE for *GOD*, self, then, others! CHRIST JESUS gave us Commandments to live by, of which, the first is to LOVE *GOD*, with all of your mind, heart, and, soul; the second is, to LOVE one another!

LOVE COMPELS us to LIVE IN HIM, through conduct which conforms to *GOD*; in other words, morality, ethics, doing good, and, being good, and, ever striving to improve the spirit! It is about REFLECTING THE TRUTH, for ALL to bear witness to, FOR, and, TO HIS GLORY, RADIANTLY SHINING OF HIS POWER, GRACE, and, MERCIES!!!

It IS ALL ABOUT LOVE, baby, all about LOVE!!!

MATTHEW 4: 17...
From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

JOHN 14:15...
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

MAY PEACE BE WITH YOU, ALWAYS!!!

NOTE: I do not intend to preach, rather to reach; to stir up, awaken, to inspire, and, bring forth, in discussion, that which is, perhaps, dormantly existing in the heart of hearts, thus, little, or, no, sugar coatings, just THE WORD of *GOD*, the TRUTH, along with some of my thoughts. And truth is, I am reminding myself always, as I practice these reminders, in the best of my abilities, and capacities, while RELYING on THE LORD to lead me on that narrow PATH---> MATTHEW 7: 14: "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it... EVERYBODY PRAISE THE LORD: LINCOLN BREWSTER

5TH SUNDAY OF LENT: CHRIST JESUS IN HIS PASSIONATE LOVE...

The PASSION OF CHRIST IS our exemplar, and it IS within us to exist IN HIS LOVE! LOVE IS THE POWER and THE AUTHORITY of our existence as Christians, and in this Easter season, we strive to better understand, and meld in it! We PREPARE ourselves by becoming more, more, and more like our SAVIOUR, THE LORD CHRIST JESUS---

We WON'T be perfect in our quest to imitate HIM, yet, by DOING what HE bids of us, we are taken ever closer TO HIM, TO TRUTH, and TO our REALITY! We LEARN FROM HIM, as we seek to improve ourselves that we bear fruit worthy OF HIM; FOR HIS GLORY...

What was the source of the passion of Christ? It was his intense love for mankind. The great love of Jesus resulted in his extreme commitment to walk a very precise and narrow path to redeem mankind. For the sake of restoring humans to fellowship with God, he made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant by being made in human likeness (Philippians 2:6-7). His passionate love caused him to leave the glory of heaven to take human form and live an obedient life of self-sacrifice required by the holiness of God. Only such a selfless life could produce the pure and innocent blood sacrifice required to cover the sins of those who put their faith in him (John 3:16; Ephesians 1:7).

The passion of Christ was directed by the Father's will and resulted in a life whose purpose was the cross (John 12:27). Jesus was dedicated to accomplishing the requirements foretold by prophecies and the will of the Father. In Matthew 4:8-9, the devil offered Jesus the kingdoms of the world in exchange for his worship. This offer represented a way for Jesus to establish his kingdom on earth without the cross. It may have seemed like an easy shortcut, but Jesus was passionate to accomplish the exact plan of the Father and so rejected it.

In John 6:14-15, a crowd tried to make Jesus a king by force, but he again rejected their attempt because it would have deviated from the cross. The final words of Jesus from the cross were a triumphant proclamation. Like a runner crossing the finish line in agony, yet with great emotion in overcoming obstacles, Jesus says "It is finished!" (John 19:30).

The passion of Christ originated in love, was directed by the purpose of God, and was lived in dependence on the presence of God. Jesus declared that every word that he said was given to him by the Father who commanded him what to say and how to say it (John 12:49). In order for this to happen, Jesus lived every moment in the presence of the Father. Every thought, word, and action of Jesus was given to him by the Father (John 14:31).

The passion of Christ was energized by the power of God. Jesus healed the sick, restored the paralyzed, calmed the sea, fed the multitudes, and raised the dead through the power of God. Even when he was handed over to the mob led by Judas, he spoke and they fell back onto the ground (John 18:6). Jesus was always in control of his life. He said that more than twelve legions, or in excess of thirty-six thousand angels, would respond to his commands (Matthew 26:53).

Jesus was not just a good man who fell victim to evil circumstances. On the contrary, he predicted the manner of his death and the time and place chosen by the Father (Matthew 26:2). Jesus was not a powerless victim. He embraced death to accomplish our redemption and rose from the dead in power and majesty!

The life of Christ has set a pattern for living a passionate life for him. Believers in Jesus experience a spiritual birth that results in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3; 1 Corinthians 6:19). Therefore, believers have everything needed to live a passionate life for Christ.

First and foundational to everything else is the importance of building a love relationship with Jesus. Deuteronomy 6:5 says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."  This is a lofty command but one that is critical for believers to strive to attain.

The love of Jesus is the most precious, personal, and intense relationships. Believers must learn to live in daily, if not momentary dependence on Jesus, seeking his will and experiencing his presence. This begins with setting thoughts on God. Proverbs 23:7 says that what we think about defines us.

Paul says that believers are to set their minds on what is pure, lovely, excellent, and praiseworthy and God will be with you (Philippians 4:8-9). It may not be possible to do this at all times, but the key is to find the places, ways, and times where God is presently experienced and build on these. The more God is experienced, the more your mind will dwell on him and with him. This produces ever-increasing praise, worship, and thoughts of God that translate into actions that express love and seek to honor him.

In practicing the presence of God, the purpose of God is discovered. This is summed up in the Great Commission where Jesus commands his disciples to go and tell others everything that he has revealed to them (Matthew 28:19-20). This is key to understanding and following God’s plan for our lives. The knowledge and experiences that God gives us will help us discover his purpose for our lives. Sharing personal encounters with God makes for passionate expressions of teaching, praise, and worship!

Finally, the power of God is manifest in actions stemming from the love, purpose, and presence of God. God energizes us resulting in heightened joy and boldness to do his will. Evidence of the power of God revealed through believers includes unexpected insights and blessings.

Other evidence of the power of God flowing through believers includes changed lives and spiritual growth based on increased faith, wisdom, and knowledge. Ever present with the power of God is his love that transforms our lives inspiring us to be passionate in our pursuit of Christ! Mueller, Warren. "Understanding the Passion of Christ in the Bible."

In the above we see 'the source of the PASSION OF CHRIST, the direction of HIS PASSION, the dependence of HIS PASSION, the POWER OF HIS PASSION, the pattern of HIS PASSION, HIS LOVE as our relational connection, as in our relationship with HIM, and the PURPOSE OF *GOD*, as well as the POWER OF *GOD*' in HIS PLAN of SALVATION for those who LOVE HIM! I find this a great outline for considering our part in HIS WILL, and for mapping our journey on THE PATH...

HOLY seasons are meant to renew our passion for THE LORD *GOD*, as we aspire to better REFLECT HIM, which means we have stepped INTO HIS WILL, and are existing as best as we can accordingly! Such times are for reflection, and for assessing just how far we are willing to allow our passion for HIM to SHINE in the world...

What CHRIST JESUS, our SAVIOUR has endured for us IS incredible, awesome, and humbling! In NO way could we ever hope to repay HIM, but that we long to be ONE WITH HIM, and abide IN HIS WILL IS exactly what HE longs for! HE KNOWS that we are NOT able to do much without HIM, but WITH HIM ALL IS POSSIBLE, and WILL find great recompense when the time has come...

It IS SO difficult for people to grasp the depth of commitment necessary TO our TRUTH IN HIM, though let us NEVER tire in trying to, and let us NOT grow weary as we move forward IN HIS NAME!!!
