As I walk this land of woes, and worries, I am ALWAYS drawn TO THE LORD, for this Earth holds nothing, nor anyone that can give me the resolute calm as HE does, nor the strength to keep on, nor the will to! As it says in PSALM 118: 8; It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. THIS TRUTH I HAVE found authentic, and accurate, indeed! NO ONE will EVER be as FAITHFUL unto us as IS CHRIST JESUS, our LORD *GOD*; even the most loyal person has their weaknesses, and moments when they consider themselves before anyone, or anything else, but *GOD* IS EVER TRUE, SURE, and PURELY motivated; thus, HE CAN, and WILL lead those whom RELY ON HIM, and TRUST IN HIM, AMEN!!!
As Christian's we are being TRAINED in RIGHTEOUSNESS! We are being TRAINED to exist in ways which has *GOD'S* approval! 2 TIMOTHY 3: 16: All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
Those who would learn the things of God, and be assured of them, must know the Holy Scriptures, for they are the Divine revelation. The age of children is the age to learn; and those who would get true learning, must get it out of the Scriptures. They must not lie by us neglected, seldom or never looked into. The Bible is a sure guide to eternal life. The prophets and apostles did not speak from themselves, but delivered what they received of God, 2Pe 1:21. It is profitable for all purposes of the Christian life. It is of use to all, for all need to be taught, corrected, and reproved. There is something in the Scriptures suitable for every case. Oh that we may love our Bibles more, and keep closer to them! then shall we find benefit, and at last gain the happiness therein promised by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the main subject of both Testaments. We best oppose error by promoting a solid knowledge of the word of truth; and the greatest kindness we can do to children, is to make them early to know the Bible.
There are other references to our being trained in righteousness; at least 100, for sure, dealing with studying THE WORD, HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, and APPLYING this knowledge TO our existence, as we GROW INTO our TRUTH, and bear fruits worthy OF HIM!!!
This can only happen IF we HAVE given ourselves over TO HIM, and FOLLOW HIM; in other words we COMPLY according TO HIS WILL, THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS unimpeded TO carry out the HOLY WORKS in TRANSFORMING us INTO our REALITY, and TRUTH as SERVANTS OF THE LORD *GOD* ALMIGHTY!!!
The favour of God, the welfare of the soul, the concerns of eternity, are the things of the Spirit, which those that are after the Spirit do mind. Which way do our thoughts move with most pleasure? Which way go our plans and contrivances? Are we most wise for the world, or for our souls? Those that live in pleasure are dead, 1Ti 5:6. A sanctified soul is a living soul; and that life is peace. The carnal mind is not only an enemy to God, but enmity itself. The carnal man may, by the power of Divine grace, be made subject to the law of God, but the carnal mind never can; that must be broken and driven out. We may know our real state and character by inquiring whether we have the Spirit of God and Christ, or not, ver. 9. Ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. Having the Spirit of Christ, means having a turn of mind in some degree like the mind that was in Christ Jesus, and is to be shown by a life and conversation suitable to his precepts and example.
21+++Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him, in keeping with the truth that is in Jesus,
22+++to put off your former way of life, your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23+++to be renewed in the spirit of your minds;
24+++and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
The apostle charged the Ephesians in the name and by the authority of the Lord Jesus, that having professed the gospel, they should not be as the unconverted Gentiles, who walked in vain fancies and carnal affections. Do not men, on every side, walk in the vanity of their minds? Must not we then urge the distinction between real and nominal Christians? They were void of all saving knowledge; they sat in darkness, and loved it rather than light. They had a dislike and hatred to a life of holiness, which is not only the way of life God requires and approves, and by which we live to him, but which has some likeness to God himself in his purity, righteousness, truth, and goodness. The truth of Christ appears in its beauty and power, when it appears as in Jesus. The corrupt nature is called a man; like the human body, it is of divers parts, supporting and strengthening one another. Sinful desires are deceitful lusts; they promise men happiness, but render them more miserable; and bring them to destruction, if not subdued and mortified. These therefore must be put off, as an old garment, a filthy garment; they must be subdued and mortified. But it is not enough to shake off corrupt principles; we must have gracious ones. By the new man, is meant the new nature, the new creature, directed by a new principle, even regenerating grace, enabling a man to lead a new life of righteousness and holiness. This is created, or brought forth by God's almighty power.
HIS CHOSEN, HIS Children, ESPECIALLY ought to SHINE OF HIM, THAT HE IS noticed, seen, and does inspire those lost in the carnal world! HOW we do this involves RELYING ON HIM, KNOWING HIM, HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, and HIS WORD, meaning we DEVOTE ourselves TO being as attuned TO HIM as is feasible, that we are OPEN TO HIM, and HIS WORKS IN US!!!
All true Christians are a chosen generation; they make one family, a people distinct from the world: of another spirit, principle, and practice; which they could never be, if they were not chosen in Christ to be such, and sanctified by his Spirit. Their first state is a state of gross darkness, but they are called out of darkness into a state of joy, pleasure, and prosperity; that they should show forth the praises of the Lord by their profession of his truth, and their good conduct. How vast their obligations to Him who has made them his people, and has shown mercy to them! To be without this mercy is a woeful state, though a man have all worldly enjoyments. And there is nothing that so kindly works repentance, as right thoughts of the mercy and love of God. Let us not dare to abuse and affront the free grace of God, if we mean to be saved by it; but let all who would be found among those who obtain mercy, walk as his people.
ONLY THE LORD *GOD* CAN, and WILL LEAD us through this realm, AND REVEAL our TRUTH! WITHOUT HIM we are lost, we are prone to lies, falsehoods, confusion, delusion, and a slew of negatives which bind us up, just to take us down with all which HE WILL reject, when HE RETURNS for HIS people! Those who deny, defy, and otherwise mock HIM ARE SURE to regret their decisions come that time, and there will be NO compromise, FOR HE HAS TOLD us, and GIVEN us THE WAY TO FOLLOW!!!
Let us CONSIDER THE TRUTH, as we PRAY for the lost, and for ourselves, THAT we are not shaken out of our senses, nor taken astray, and that we EVER seek HIM, and MORE of HIS instruction for the sake of enduring to the end!!!
