This isn't restricted to individuals either; there are nations which call out the moral/other weaknesses of particular nations totally void of admitting that theirs is as riddled with the same! Perfect example where CHRIST JESUS' message of the beam in the eye applies (MATTHEW 7:3)!!!
PRIDE is the point of reckoning people come from when they determine that others are more imperfect than are they! PRIDE, that great sin which separates humanity from THE CREATOR, *GOD*! PRIDE that deeply embedded son of the evil ruler of this realm! PRIDE that stirrer of passion, of all which brings people to the negatives in which we exist, and in which we fuss/fight/war over!!!
DYSFUNCTION IS rampant throughout the entire world; EVEN in those regions which have maintained venerated ancient customs, and traditions, because behind closed doors, there yet is found those flaws which ARE common to existing in this world, and which exist in the first place due to lack of completed knowledge, acknowledgement, and self-control! We ALL have shortcomings, and without THE LORD *GOD* ALMIGHTY they become one with the nature, thus, acceptable, at least in reason, despite much attempt in some to shroud the fact of their existence...
SEE, THIS is a MAIN ROOT of where our constant dissension derives from, as nearly everyone IS sure that they are better than the next, or are above the usual, or they have a NEED to feel superior! IF we could LOSE the inclination to determine another person's merit, we would see great change in this reeling world!!!
I KNOW I AM IMPERFECT; I KNOW ONLY *GOD* CAN MAKE me perfect, and with the knowledge HE offers, I AM working to improve MY shortcomings, which I do first because of THE LORD, then because such is NOT becoming to my TRUTH, which TAKES time away from noticing those of anyone else, NOT that I never notice, instead that I am able to REMIND myself of my own OVER theirs! It is part and parcel to MATURITY, both as a Child of *GOD*, and as a person! It would be ridiculous for me to note the flaws of others MORE than those I have, don't you think?!!
Elementary ARE the ways past all the discord we endure on this planet, BECAUSE WE ARE ABLE to CORRECT what is wrong, what is bad, what is flawed, AND WITH THE LORD *GOD* that ability INCREASES A HUNDRED THOUSAND FOLD!!!
There is NO justification for IMAGINING ourselves to be more than we are, or greater than we are! There is NO sense in THINKING in such ways! There is NO POSITIVE in considering others negatively!!!
GALATIANS 6: 3-4...
3+++For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
4+++But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.
It is very common for a man to look upon himself as wiser and better than other men, and as fit to dictate to them. Such a one deceives himself; by pretending to what he has not, he puts a cheat upon himself, and sooner or later will find the sad effects. This will never gain esteem, either with God or men.
Every one is advised to prove his own work. The better we know our own hearts and ways, the less shall we despise others, and the more be disposed to help them under infirmities and afflictions. How light soever men's sins seem to them when committed, yet they will be found a heavy burden, when they come to reckon with God about them. No man can pay a ransom for his brother; and sin is a burden to the soul. It is a spiritual burden; and the less a man feels it to be such, the more cause has he to suspect himself. Most men are dead in their sins, and therefore have no sight or sense of the spiritual burden of sin. Feeling the weight and burden of our sins, we must seek to be eased thereof by the Saviour, and be warned against every sin.
