Police in Rome, Italy, were called to the Appio area of the city after someone reported hearing crying and shouting Tuesday. That's when they met 84-year-old Jole and her 94-year-old husband, Michele, in their small apartment.
The elderly couple didn't do anything against the law. They were just watching television when they started to cry, Rome police said.
Jole had asked her husband why there was so much hate in the news that day, and Jole had cried so loudly that someone in the building called the police, officers said.
The couple has been married for nearly 70 years and told officers they felt very lonely. It had been years since someone had visited them, they said.
As they waited for an ambulance to check on the couple, police decided to do something special. One officer prepared a plate of pasta for Jole and Michele while three other officers sat down with the couple for a chat.
I admit, this has me crying buckets! In a more detailed report it stated that they didn't find much food in the house either; just a couple of grapes on the table, and that these two were still very much in LOVE!!!
THE LORD *GOD* HAS COMMANDED us to care for the orphaned, the widowed, the elderly, the needy, the lonely, the downcast, the oppressed, and for everyone who suffers at the hands, and evils of this world, BECAUSE that IS WHAT LOVE IS ABOUT, which we KNOW IS THE LAW HE gave us to exist in, and by!!!
I told my Family that I would gladly bring these two here; they could room in my office, which is large enough indeed! There ARE billions of such people, some right in our own neighborhoods, you know?! In times not so long ago, before everyone was SO busy, people took time to look in on others, to spend time chatting with one another, and generally CARING about the welfare of those around them! The world has changed, and there are LOTS of elderly people out there, some of whose Children are far away, or gone before their Parents; others with NO Family left at all; others whose Families just don't care, or don't have a clue, and well, there are many reasons why people end up suffering!!!
We HAVE to CARE for one another, don't we GET it?!! We HAVE to have COMPASSION, and ALL which comprises LOVE, otherwise, we are NOT fulfilling THE LORD'S WILL, and certainly NOT bringing anything to the table...

We went for a walk to get some fresh produce yesterday, and where we parked, was busy with people playing Pokemon Go; not quite aware of anything around them, heads towards their phones, stopping, starting, duos splitting up, a baby left in a van car seat, with the doors wide open, and no adults nearby, and well, basically, the only human connection was barely human! Daily existence sees the masses texting, always looking down, always in an apparent rush to free more time to be electronically connected, but less humanly so! I have been intently observing, and it is like, scary! I have nothing against computers, electronics, readers, or any other device, but what I am seeing is a mass shift into nearly robotic response towards humans, and irritation when forced to interact, because it is interfering with what is happening on the monitor!!!
Addiction is NOT sufficient in describing what the electronic age has produced! It is almost like we are being lured, and not for our good, not to say that nothing good comes forth of the trends, but instead, well, DISTRACTION IS A TOOL OF THE ENEMY, as it KEEPS people FROM existing as they should, SERVING *GOD* & each other! In recent years, the consequences HAVE added up as people have suffered all sorts of things, from job losses, to losing Spouses, relationships, and all the way through to being killed because the line is NOT drawn between pleasure, and practicality!!!
PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE! People NEED LOVE! People NEED to KNOW that SOMEONE CARES! *GOD* designed us for such! More, and more frequently we see those who are very social online, but offline are tense, and find it difficult to interact! Not only that, with so many walking around with their eyes glued to a screen, and their minds focused thereon, they have little knowledge of what is going on around them, thus they are endangered! Car accidents due to phones is rising daily, and so are other sufferings because of electronic overtime! I have been in line at stores, not kidding, not exaggerating, where the clerk was texting while checking people out, and I have noticed that these employees are not around too long! Not too hard to figure out that distraction equals mistakes!!!
Ahhh, it just hurts me to see people suffering needlessly, all because the world is flying in gigahertz; too absorbed in an alter world to tend to the one which we exist in! Dangers we don't even realize ARE pending, and accelerating, no doubt!!!
IF it WEREN'T for LOVE, none of us would be here, but dang if we can LOVE in the gist of TRUTH!!!

Interestingly enough, yesterday I received a magazine which had an article on the PERILS of Smart Phones: included were neck problems, which can last the rest of our lives, severe arthritis in the thumb especially, a few more, AND the danger of distraction, which even lasts 47 seconds AFTER turning off the phone; SO, you see, there IS danger in overusing, and they state that people ARE engaged on their phones AT LEAST 5 hours a day, but we all know, that number increases all the while... From a spiritual standpoint, that time COULD have been used SERVING *GOD*, and Mankind, in ways as simple as PRAYING, in which there IS HEAVENLY POWER TOWARDS improving existence for a great many! Not lecturing, not judging, just concerned, and sharing bits of TRUTH, FOR the GOOD of ALL...
