A foremost lesson to learn in walking with our LORD IS humility, and yet, one which has been cast aside by ideals which have infiltrated TRUTH! Ideals which have the taint of deception written all over them! Ideals which are passed along because they appeal to the fleshy being, but are not common to the spirit! Ideals which see far too many behaving in ways which dishonour TRUTH...
Humility; first and foremost is a recognition, and an acknowledgement of THE LORD *GOD* ALMIGHTY AS RULER, and LORD OVER ALL, and EVERYTHING; a *GOD* whose POWERS are mysterious, as well as barely known to us! HE WHOM CREATED EVERYTHING, and EVERY being, IS MORE THAN WORTHY of our kneeling, of our reverence, of our regard, of our respect, of our shedding of the self in order to please HIM, and to share HIS GLORY ETERNALLY!!!
There is a trend of feeling superior vibrating through Christianity, which Apostle Paul warned us about in 2 CORINTHIANS 10, for it is NOT the one commends himself who is approved, but the one whom THE LORD commends! The ONLY ONE WORTHY of our boasting IS THE LORD, hence, there is NO superiority among us!!!
If we would compare ourselves with others who excel us, this would be a good method to keep us humble. The apostle fixes a good rule for his conduct; namely, not to boast of things without his measure, which was the measure God had distributed to him. There is not a more fruitful source of error, than to judge of persons and opinions by our own prejudices. How common is it for persons to judge of their own religious character, by the opinions and maxims of the world around them! But how different is the rule of God's word! And of all flattery, self-flattery is the worst. Therefore, instead of praising ourselves, we should strive to approve ourselves to God. In a word, let us glory in the Lord our salvation, and in all other things only as evidences of his love, or means of promoting his glory. Instead of praising ourselves, or seeking the praise of men, let us desire that honour which cometh from God only.

PRIDE is that which causes us to err and to live away from THE LORD, initially evident as the first people decided to listen to the enemy OVER *GOD*, and HAS been the thread of tradition passed down since then...
Such HAS been introduced to humanity, and increased by the whispering to the mind from THE LORD'S enemy! Too many are apt to listen to the chatter which leads them astray, because it appeals to their egocentric being, which is SURE it IS entitled! Too, people determine *GOD'S* LOVE premised upon human perceptions, and like the enemy convinced Eve that surely *GOD* would still LOVE her if she went ahead and did what HE ordered her not to do, many mistake HIS LOVE to mean that HE finds no displeasure in their ways, or that HE will ignore what they do, because of LOVE! There IS a thread of TRUTH in the ways we are deceived; once again the enemy IS well-versed, and extremely intelligent, HOWEVER, it is not only twisted to appeal to our senses, but it is incomplete!!!
*GOD'S* LOVE IS FOREVER, but in that LOVE there IS HIS anger, HIS wrath, HIS judgement, which WILL manifest when HE comes to enjoin HIS people and HIS KINGDOM, and based on our choices in this time, which REVEAL the heart's truth, there will be NO chance to make things right! People NEED to understand, as I have said, over and over, the worth of the soul OVER the flesh, and HOW the flesh endangers the soul WHEN THE LORD has HIS Day! *GOD* still LOVES even those who are slated for eternal suffering, but HE is NOT a pushover in HIS LOVE, and HAS MADE it crystal clear that HIS own should exist apart from the world, apart from the self, and IN HIS WILL OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!!!
Christians OUGHT to understand that just as CHRIST JESUS LOWERED HIMSELF in this plane, so shall HIS people, and in doing so, there IS reward eternal, which WILL be far more than all combined of what the world has to offer! Christians OUGHT to understand that IF they are IN CHRIST, they are DEAD to the world, and ALIVE IN HIM, which IS speaking of carnal tendencies, and preferences! We CHOOSE in our free will to SERVE *GOD*, as did HIS SON! We CHOOSE to step INTO HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, and HIS WORD AS the foundation on which we build, and being built upon!!!
Self-inclination, and well as that strong sense of entitlement are NOT aligned behaviours, nor characteristics of the devout! Think about it, and understand that NOTHING about the *GODLY* is pomp, or pompous! Today, I am ecstatic that THE LORD *GOD* has brought me this far, and HAS BLESSED me in innumerable ways, even if it doesn't measure up in the world, I CAN testify that HE HAS brought me riches which cannot be measured by the world, and might not be tangible, but they are real, and are NOT perishable like the riches of this world! I CAN testify that HE HAS LIFTED me OVER the world more times than I even know, and HAS LED me past that which intends to destroy me!!!
I NEED HIM MORE than anything else, thus I am WILLING to ALLOW HIM to finish, and perfect me! Don't think I haven't had my opportunities to be quite wealthy, or to continue in the ways of the world, but I AWAKENED, thanks BE TO HIM, and HUMBLED myself before HIM WHOM IS SOVEREIGN RULER OVER ALL, and EVERYTHING, NOW, and FOREVERMORE! When I awakened, sense and sensibility of the HOLY kind began to heal the damages the world has done on my entire being! I began to SEE, and to HEAR HIM, and the GENIUS of HIS WILL, which IS just, right, good, and WILL eternally BENEFIT ALL who DECIDE to turn to, or return to HIM!!!

MATTHEW 16: 26...
"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
A true disciple of Christ is one that does follow him in duty, and shall follow him to glory. He is one that walks in the same way Christ walked in, is led by his Spirit, and treads in his steps, whithersoever he goes. Let him deny himself. If self-denial be a hard lesson, it is no more than what our Master learned and practiced, to redeem us, and to teach us. Let him take up his cross. The cross is here put for every trouble that befalls us. We are apt to think we could bear another's cross better than our own; but that is best which is appointed us, and we ought to make the best of it. We must not by our rashness and folly pull crosses down upon our own heads, but must take them up when they are in our way. If any man will have the name and credit of a disciple, let him follow Christ in the work and duty of a disciple. If all worldly things are worthless when compared with the life of the body, how forcible the same argument with respect to the soul and its state of never-ending happiness or misery! Thousands lose their souls for the most trifling gain, or the most worthless indulgence, nay, often from mere sloth and negligence. Whatever is the object for which men forsake Christ, that is the price at which Satan buys their souls. Yet one soul is worth more than all the world. This is Christ's judgment upon the matter; he knew the price of souls, for he redeemed them; nor would he underrate the world, for he made it. The dying transgressor cannot purchase one hour's respite to seek mercy for his perishing soul. Let us then learn rightly to value our souls, and Christ as the only Saviour of them.
