What is going on that our Children are so distressed, so despondent that they plan their own death? What is wrong with our world that bullies are rampant, from quite Elder Adults, down to the very young???
It is MORE than the bullying, it is the general attitude of not only Children, but the Adults too!!!
I just read an article which stated that 60% of ALL Christian Children will leave their Church, by Middle school, or High school, most never to return! What is happening here???
This article cited that Parents are not teaching THE LORD to their Children, and this is surely, a part of it, but it goes WAY beyond that! The Church has accountability too, as well as the schools, and the other people whom comprise the Children's lives! It is a COMMUNAL responsibility to not only teach THE LORD, but to UPHOLD HIM, HIS WILL, and WAYS! This applies to non-Christians as well!!
Children have a knack for sensing what we think goes over their heads, such as hypocrisy, insincerity, and other matters which AFFECT their growth, and development, not only as Christians, as people! Something we need to think about, and correct...
Too, in these times, Parents HAVE to work hard, some working 3 jobs to provide for their Families, and so, they are worn thin, with little access to the energy it takes to make sure ALL areas of a Child's development are being met! Thus, it is CRUCIAL that ALL whom make up a Child's life, contribute more than in passing!!!
Kids mimic those in their lives! Sometimes Parents are so stressed out, so frustrated, so angry at their lives, that they speak, act, and react in negative, harsh ways, this leaves an impressionable Child to think that this is normal behavior, and pretty soon, they are the product of such! Also, Parents who gossip, put other people down, make fun of people, and so forth, are setting a standard! ALL sorts of behaviours, and characteristics that the world has taught people, and are considered acceptable ARE AGAINST THE LORD, and so, The Clergy OUGHT to be TEACHING REALITY to the masses, in HOPES of at least, the Children, taking this to heart! Don't say that there is no responsibility for The Clergy, because there IS GREAT responsibility as they are Chosen to GUIDE HIS people, and Children ARE THE FUTURE!!!
Right now, it is almost frightening to witness the attitudes, disrespect, disregard, and mouths on many of the Youth! They are like aggressive, impulsive, compulsive, arrogant, tough beyond their years, and defiant as it gets! I am amazed sometimes! A 4 or 5 year old Child that used to live in my neighborhood, used to make obscene gestures at passerby's, and the filth that came out of his mouth, plus, there was always a rock or two! Don't tell me that this is an isolated case, there are TOO MANY similar stories!!!
So, where does a little one learn to act in such ways? For sure, something is lacking at home, but too, because his Parent(s) have to work to support him, the other Kids he is around, influence him; it is a LONG line of influence, thus, we are TAUGHT that COMMUNITY OUGHT to live IN *GOD*!!!
CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE, and right now, it is looking as if worse than Mad Max will be the standard! WHO is going to change the standard? HOW does one change the standard???
Serious thought is necessary, by ALL Adults, by ALL who will shape the lives of these youngsters! We HAVE to DO something, not only for their sake, for THE LORD, and for the well-being of ALL in society! We CAN'T sit idle, and wish for solutions, we HAVE to come TOGETHER, in EACH town, city, state, and country, TO find workable ways to nip in the bud, what HAS the potential to create extreme problems down the line!!!
Let us PRAY for the Children, their Families, the Teachers, Preachers, Babysitters, other care providers, and ALL who have influence ON these Kids! Yes, let us PRAY! Let us MAKE time to FIND solutions for the sake of THE LORD, and ALL, in the name of LOVE! It is UP to US to REFLECT THE LORD; this includes ALL matters in life, and most certainly, concerning the Children!!!
There ARE, of course, some after school programs available, yet, often they are too far for certain Kids, and other criteria stands in the way; then, many are just like being in school! More than after school programs are needed, especially in the warmer months, and when school is out! Then there are programs that cost money, and many of the Kids Families are already strapped! What needs to happen is POSITIVE volunteers in neighborhoods forming groups that provide a safe, wholesome environment for the Children, with activities they ENJOY, along with certain other things that influence them in important matters! It ISN'T easy to tackle this huge problem, yet, the answer DOESN'T lie in complacency, or looking the other way either! There ARE things every neighborhood CAN do to ensure the safety, happiness, POSITIVE growth and development, and so forth of the Children, but, because of the way things are, it mostly, takes VOLUNTEERS, and LOTS OF LOVE, PATIENCE, and PRAYER! Exemplary Teens should get involved too!! OXOXOXO
