Yes, this is an area of great difficulty for believers! We also, misunderstand what HE means by riches, in the first place! HE is GENERALLY, speaking of spiritual riches, the ones that will safeguard us to our arrival in HIS KINGDOM!!!
And, of course, for those who are in dire straits, homeless, starving, and, otherwise without, find HOPE in believing that HE will lavish them, which, is fine, to some degree, but, is motivated by need, not from understanding. You see, IF the world lived in the LOVE HE COMMANDS of us, there would be NO such suffering, for ALL would be provided for! The Christian Comm'UNITY' was instructed in this matter, well, and, frequently, as found in MATTHEW 6: 24, MATTHEW 19: 21, LUKE 16: 10-13, ACTS 4: 32-35, ACTS 20:35, 1 TIMOTHY 6: 17-19; in fact, from GENESIS all the way through THE WORD, we are reminded, again, and again, to CARE for the poor, the Fatherless, the orphaned, the widowed! So, you see, much of the blame is on us!!!
Worldly riches create wealth of the worldly kind, Spiritual riches create wealth of the eternal kind! Worldly riches create comfort for the flesh, Spiritual riches create comfort for the soul! Worldly riches are ALWAYS fading, Spiritual riches are ETERNAL! Worldly riches do NOT create great people, Spiritual riches DO!!!
One could say that anyone who expects to be lavished with worldly goods, is already removed from *GOD*, because they are in the flesh, thinking carnally, with the egocentric self, and, not with the spirit of understanding! If this is the case, I retain HOPE for some of these people, BECAUSE they have NOT been properly taught! *GOD'S* FAVOUR is NOT always tangible, or to be touched! Instead, HE lavishes HIS favoured with what is NOT going to pass away!!!
Someone belittled my FAITH in recent months, saying that if I am walking in *GOD*, why hasn't HE made sure that I am well-provided for!? Little does she know, she wasn't challenging me, she was challenging *GOD*! This is the result of people who THINK that *GOD* is like a genie; they EXPECT touchable, tangible PROOF of HIS favour! Hmmmn, it just DOESN'T work that way! Not only that, I have a roof over my head, clothes, food, and, more: HE DOES provide for me; I am content, and, stand in gratitude of ALL HE HAS done for me, tangibly, but especially the intangibles, throughout the years of my life!!!
The Disciples, and, Apostle's, were basically homeless, and, in other needy circumstances, yet, they FELT rich, and, KNEW they HAD been well-provided for! They did NOT compromise HIS favour by asking for things, they felt BLESSED in MANY ways, for the care they received of HIM, in ALL ways! CHRIST, HIMSELF, though HE COULD have manifested much, lived a simple, unassuming life! WHY can't we SEE the SOUND sense in this???
I am nearly impoverished, and, I have been nearly wealthy before; it DOESN'T seem to matter! I bask in what I DO have, being grateful, and, enjoying what I DO have, by HIS GRACE! *GOD* has LED me, IN HIS WILL, through thick, and thin! I AM RIGHT where I am supposed to be, even IF it doesn't set well with humanity! I don't need wealth in order for HIM to be evident in my life, I have more than I could have hoped for, in the gifts of nonperishable treasures HE has placed within!!!
Some of the richest people in the world, have been granted their wealth to test, and, prove their allegiance, so, be careful of whom you envy, or, what you envy! And, I have witnessed in the past couple of years, many formerly wealthy people, becoming nearly broke, because they are of HIS Chosen, SO, IN HIS favour, HE has seen the need for them to be humbled to the point of REALIZING, once, and, for all, the TRUE wealth; HIM!!!
Preoccupation with wealth is debilitating! I KNOW, because I have been there, too, when you are totally without, wealth SEEMS to hold great promise, but, remember, all that glitters is not gold, and, the deceiver KNOWS just HOW to remove us from our inheritance, so beware of what you wish for! Granted, to have some comfort is wonderful, yet, this too, has a path to be followed, and, must be understood, before setting foot on it!!!
DON'T blame *GOD* for what you don't have! HE HAS provided, though, we often, have lessons to learn, or, err/sin to overcome, before we are aware of HIS provisions, or, HE BLESSES us more! EVERYTHING HAS PURPOSE, according TO HIS WILL, and, HIS WILL IS THE GIST OF this life!!!
TRUST HIM, for HE IS our ROCK, our DELIVERER, our SURE, and, PRESENT HELP in ALL matters! HONE your FAITH, STAY IN THE WORD, BELIEVE HIM, THANK HIM, PRAISE HIM, WORSHIP HIM, and, live in LOVE; HE is ever near, ever observing, ever hearing, ever noting HIS people!!!
