Conforming to CHRIST, means conforming to *GOD'S* WAYS, or, WILL, which may not mean conforming to HIS laws, and, statutes, though, there is evidence that we should do so, if only in studying, and, learning them, that the good of them, becomes a part of our character in HIM, which leads to spiritual maturity, which leads to, bringing more people home to HIM, through our example, AS shining LIGHTS of HIS righteousness, and, GLORY!!!
MANY are rebellious about their walk with *GOD*, feeling that they are well within their rights to live as they, carnally, please, which is way different than what is written! It is written, that, in baptism, we have become dead TO the world, and, alive IN CHRIST, which means, the carnality of living is past tense! We have been forgiven for our carnality, but, as we were grafted into the tree, or, vine, of life, CHRIST, we are to be as worthy grafts, productive, and, encouraging to the ROOT, CHRIST, which means, LIVING, and, EXISTING in as much righteousness as we can bring forth, IN the name of *GOD* ALMIGHTY!!!
You know as well as I do, IF you have read the BOOK, that it states that we are to take off the old self, and, put on the new self, the self of *GOD*, and, HE has said, "Be HOLY, because I AM HOLY!", now, what do you suppose that means???
JAMES 2:14-26...
14/ What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
15/ If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day,
16/ and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?
17/ So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18/ Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.
19/ You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble.
20/ Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless?
21/ Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?
22/ You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works.
23/ Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called "the friend of God."
24/ See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
25/ And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route?
26/ For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
1 PETER 1:6-9...
6/ In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials,
7/ so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8/ Although you have not seen him you love him; even though you do not see him now yet believe in him, you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,
9/ as you attain the goal of (your) faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 PETER 1:13-25...
13/ Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly, and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
14/ Like obedient children, do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance
15/ but, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct,
16/ for it is written, "Be holy because I (am) holy."
17/ Now if you invoke as Father him who judges impartially according to each one's works, conduct yourselves with reverence during the time of your sojourning,
18/ realizing that you were ransomed from your futile conduct, handed on by your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold
19/ but with the precious blood of Christ as of a spotless unblemished lamb.
20/ He was known before the foundation of the world but revealed in the final time for you,
21/ who through him believe in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
22/ Since you have purified yourselves by obedience to the truth for sincere mutual love, love one another intensely from a (pure) heart.
23/ You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and abiding word of God,
24/ for: "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of the field; the grass withers, and the flower wilts;
25/ but the word of the Lord remains forever." This is the word that has been proclaimed to you.
Becoming one with the Covenant of CHRIST entails responsibility; there is NO denying it, argue as you will! *GOD* seeks those PURE of heart, thought, and, action, though, yes, HE would LOVE to forgive us all, for everything, there HAS to be SOME effort from us; it is only fitting that IF we WANT to be one with HIM, we conform to HIM, and, comply to HIS WAYS!!!
LOVE, be kind, be good, be strong, endure, persevere, be compassionate, caring, sharing, loyal, steadfast, FAITHFUL, PRAISING, praying, and, otherwise LIFTING UP the BEST OF YOURSELF to *GOD*, that HE IS GLORIFIED through HIS GIFT OF CHRIST, IN YOU!!!
