Since it was the Passover feast, HE had the upper room readied for an evening alone with HIS Disciples; an especially important evening with them, which would be their last with HIM, until HE had RISEN...
In the course of this very personal gathering, CHRIST JESUS teaches, informs, and washes the feet of HIS CHOSEN Disciples, something which HE left as an example for all of his followers, in the way of LOVE, and HUMILITY...
As they were eating, HE reveals the one who would betray HIM, though no one else caught on, then, troubled, HE began to comfort them, as well as explaining to them the ONENESS into which they were being brought, and encouraging them to REMAIN IN HIM, that HE, remain in them, as well as familiarizing them with THE HOLY SPIRIT...
HIS LAST SUPPER was intimate, and riddled with sorrow, though the Disciples did not quite understand exactly what was to come. HE told Peter that he would deny HIM three times, and shared some very compassionate, LOVING time with those HE had hand CHOSEN, and whom were to begin HIS CHURCH, along with their roles and responsibilities, or duties; HE also explained that HIS PROMISES would be fulfilled, and that they would spend eternity with HIM...
Then, HE went to PRAY in the Garden of Gethsemane, telling them not to fall into temptation while HE did so. There HE PRAYED that if *GOD* would will it that HE might be spared the cup, 3 times. HIS PRAYING was so fervent, HIS sweat became like drops of blood, and an angel came to strengthen HIM. Soon, HE rose, and told the Disciples it was time; then, the soldiers, Judas, Pharisee's, and others arrived to arrest HIM...
Our beautiful, gentle SAVIOUR was then scourged, spit on, pushed around, ridiculed, and much worse, while HE was robed, and given a crown of thorns. In the meantime, Pilate was disturbed, and unsure why they brought HIM to him, and so, he questioned THE LORD to no avail, and ultimately told the crowds that he found no fault with HIM, but they were incited, and demanded that HE be put to death, and so, despite offering them a real criminal, the people refused, and said to death with HIM...
Regardless of the many, many generations of people this far, the depth of HIS GIFT to us, hasn't reached into the spirit, or conscience of all; instead, it is still a matter of doubt, and debate, and of carnal egotism for a great number! And I am sure HE yet weeps, as HIS LOVE IS for all, but can only be known by those who CHOOSE to know HIM, and to turn to HIM. In which case, it IS the Christian work TO inspire, and grab from the fire, as many as is feasible, and this we do according TO HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, and HIS WORD; ANIMATED, and ENERGIZED BY HIM, and our allegiance TO HIM, and HIS WILL. In other words, the closer we come to HIM; the more we aim to be LIKE HIM, the more we learn, and practice HIS WAYS, the more we DO what is right, just, and good, FOR HIS GLORY, and for the sake of souls! YAH, we HAVE WORK to do IN HIS NAME, FOR HIS GLORY, and THE KINGDOM OF WHICH WE ARE CITIZENS forever!!!
BLESSED IS THE LORD *GOD* ALMIGHTY WHOM GAVE us HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, IN PURE LOVE, FOR the sake of our souls, because of our sins, and FREED us from death, while GIVING us LIFE ETERNAL, to bask, rest, and enjoy HIS GLORY evermore! There is NO OTHER WAY TO LIFE THAN THROUGH CHRIST JESUS, and HIS LOVE; what we have in this realm is temporal, and doomed, but what we GAIN THROUGH HIM IS FOREVER, and BLESSED, therefore, let us PRAISE HIM, WORSHIP HIM, HONOUR HIM, and REJOICE IN HIM, now, and always, and this, not only in ritual, or words, but in TRUTH AND SPIRIT, and ACTION!!!
THANK YOU LORD FOR ALL YOU ARE, and ALL YOU HAVE DONE, and ALL YOU DO! May YOUR people SHINE OF YOU, and BRING YOUR GLORY into the darkness, and despair! AMEN!!!
