And as HE told us, "There is no greater LOVE than this, that one lay down their life for their Friends"! Despite being *GOD*, HE was also Man on this Earth, and the dread filled HIM more than HE probably expected. With a heavy heart, HE set on HIS way...
CHRIST JESUS IS our EXEMPLAR; HE ALONE, IS THE WAY TO THE KINGDOM, and THE PERFECT IDEAL OF LOVE! In HIS short existence as Man in this realm, HE devoted HIS time to reaching INTO the very depths of the people, FOR their safe passage THROUGH this valley, and TO FREE them from the bonds of death! HIS every hour WAS involved in HIS mission, which involved PREPARING people FOR THE WAY! HIS time here was NOT of luxury, or of comfort; instead, HE suffered, though it WAS FOR our sake, and ultimately, HIS GLORY!!!
HE left for us a MODEL to pattern ourselves after; that we might also, commit ourselves to the work at hand; saving souls, granting HOPE, giving reason for PEACE, sharing HIS LOVE, and much more! Those who proclaim HIM as their LORD, and SAVIOUR ARE bid to FOLLOW HIM, and this is much more than in thought, or word: we are expected to exist IN HIS WILL, and WAYS, as we endure, and persevere FOR HIS GLORY, and THE KINGDOM, which SHALL, one day, reward us beyond imagination! It IS our work to snatch souls from the fires; from the deadly grip of evil; from the carnal plane! It IS our work to exemplify HIM, and HIS LOVE; and this we do BY KNOWING HIM, LOVING HIM, and GIVING ourselves TO HIM, as we grow into thriving, fruit bearing branches on THE VINE!!!
“Hosanna to the Son of David;
BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD;
Hosanna in the highest!”
Hosanna signifies, Save now, we beseech thee! Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord! But of how little value is the applause of the people! The changing multitude join the cry of the day, whether it be Hosanna, or Crucify him. Multitudes often seem to approve the gospel, but few become consistent disciples. When Jesus was come into Jerusalem all the city was moved; some perhaps were moved with joy, who waited for the Consolation of Israel; others, of the Pharisees, were moved with envy. So various are the motions in the minds of men upon the approach of Christ's kingdom. Ah, this is true even in this late hour, and absolutely evident...
For the Jews, Jerusalem was the holy City of God. When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, He fulfilled an Old Testament prophecy (Zechariah 9:9-10) and left little doubt that He was accepting the title of Messiah. Jesus was adored by the crowds of people who had come to Jerusalem for Passover. But there was harsh conflict between Jesus and Jerusalem's religious leaders. They clashed on issues of prayer, holiness, life after death and paying taxes to the Romans. Above all, they clashed on the issue of Jesus' authority from God. These conflicts led to Jesus being crucified less than a week after entering Jerusalem.
Jesus did some of His most important preaching during this final week. He spoke of His second coming and told parables of the kingdom of God. Most of all He said we must put our total trust in God and put that trust into action with kindness for other people.
One thing THE LORD *GOD*, our SAVIOUR has always sought is fidelity; in this fidelity exists a great number of characteristics, behaviours, self-control, and mentalities, EACH aligned TO LOVE, and TO HIS WILL! Generation after generation, century after century, and still, the majority rejects HIM, and HIS GIFT OF LIFE! People just can't seem to understand that the body IS temporal, and IS NOT our reality; that our spirit, and soul ARE our truth, AND that which HAS eternal existence, and so, there is no rush for most to give up what they think they know, or feel so comfortable in, and there IS absolute backlash should anyone attempt to explain THE TRUTH, or guide them to it! See, today is NOT so different from way back when, and yet, THE LORD in HIS patient LOVE, continues to await even one more soul this very hour!!!
Christians ARE able to reach, and inspire others, and to point THE WAY for the lost, but less and less is it taught as part of our role in SALVATION, which makes it all the more difficult, as the masses of the lost increase, and more hardened are their hearts, yet LOVE inclines us towards compassion FOR the souls...
HOW beautiful IS THE LORD *GOD*, and HIS PLAN to SAVE humanity from the evil of this world, from ourselves, and from death! HOW genius and magnificent IS HIS PLAN, and WILL! HE does NOT want to see ANYONE perish, but alas, in free will, and lack of knowledge, so many will! It IS SO very hard to penetrate the stubbornness of humans, and their perceptions drawn from this world, and yet, SO imperative!!!
The greatest PRAISE we can hope to give our LORD is that of existing IN HIS WILL from this moment forward, as we FOLLOW HIM CLOSELY, which means we become more like HIM, as we LIVE ANEW IN SPIRIT, and TRUTH, while SERVING HIM, thus others! All else is ritual, all else is like lip-service...
Most will forget the BLESSED Easter season shortly after it concludes for this year, but it makes little sense to celebrate but not take to heart, or not act upon the GLORIOUS guidance offered therein...
Holidays are worldly, no doubt, but HOLY days are HEAVENLY, thus we should take from them as much as is feasible and use it according TO HIS WILL, FOR HIS GLORY, and the sake of souls...
HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST: THANK YOU LORD *GOD* FOR ALL YOU ARE, and ALL YOU DO, and may we HONOUR YOU the rest of our days, in our ways, as we FOLLOW YOU as did YOUR Disciples! May we once and for all, recognize the absolute privilege it IS to be CALLED YOUR Child!!!
