Is the FACT that we ARE able to resist, and OVERCOME them! Of course some sins are WAY more difficult for us to do get rid of, but TRUTH IS, especially as one with THE LORD, we CAN!!!
It is so common to hear people say that they CAN'T stop this, or that, or that they were born into such, or many of other BUTS! TRUTH IS, AS one grows INTO THE LORD, the conscience begins to operate more virtuously, until we are ever aware, leading us to KNOW quickly, what is sinful, and when it is egging us on! We begin to detest what is sinful, and we strive with all we can TO resist it, and to send it back from whence it came, as we PRAY without ceasing for *GOD* to aid us in every way feasible...
In the matter of those sins associated with addictions, physical, mental, or emotional, we find a more difficult path to embark upon, HOWEVER, we CAN beat them, and for good, IF our hearts TRULY want to...
Passions, and desires we ALL have, but we do NOT have to cave into them, nor to be chained to them, for we HAVE SELF-CONTROL, AND the advantage of KNOWING what is right, what is wrong! Sure, there are those who are lost to mental illness, and other controlling factors, but MOST people CAN build, manage, and maintain self-control in ALL matters, EVEN when being tempted!!!
The enemy KNOWS we have control OVER our desires, passions, thoughts, words, actions, and reactions, albeit he works endlessly to distract us FROM such knowledge, and TRUTH, while keeping us hopping as sin after sin is tossed into our path, and beings! For EVERYTHING there IS an opposite; for wrong, there is right, for bad, there is good, for weak, there is strong, for negative, there is POSITIVE, and so on, and yet, SO many people go through time oblivious to the alternatives, the antidotes, the solutions, instead, COMFORTABLY miserable in what they believe IS their lot!!!
I DON'T HAVE to be bound by the chains of what works against *GOD*, and me! I DON'T HAVE to be taken down into a vortex of seemingly lack of control, BECAUSE I HAVE CONTROL OVER many instances, circumstances, conditions, and situations, AND WITH THE LORD as my CENTER, I AM 100 of X'S MORE ENABLED TO!!!
Repentance is not just words, it IS ACTIVE participation IN OVERCOMING, and DEFEATING what would chain us to this world! It is NOT just saying, "I'm sorry", instead it is LEARNING what IS wrong, what works against *GOD*, and what is dangerous TO our very souls, and THEN, RELYING ON THE LORD, we work THROUGH every single challenge there is, IN the acknowledgement OF our weaknesses, and the understanding THAT we ARE ABLE to resist, and OVERCOME! NO, we are NOT confined TO our sins!!!
I KNOW of what I speak, I HAVE OVERCOME more than you might imagine, and more than I thought possible, THANKS BE TO THE LORD WHOM put me in position to SEE MYSELF, and my ABILITY TO BE STRONG DESPITE the weaknesses which plagued me, and which the enemy USED to KEEP me confused, deceived, and OUT OF TOUCH with my REALITY IN *GOD*!!!
Sin IS sin, and we ALL have to deal with it, but a GREAT many people today ARE copping out of the TRUTH which says we ARE ABLE to be VICTORIOUS OVER it! EVERY SINGLE person HAS THE WILL OF SELF-CONTROL, but since many sins are HABITS, and we are COMFORTABLY partaking in them, because we are used to them, we THINK we are controlled by them, which is the work of the oppressor FOR the sake of KEEPING us captive in them!!!
WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU ARE ABLE to RID OF that which is hindering your spirit! You HAVE ALL it takes TO defeat ANY obstacle, ANY emotion, ANY negative means of KEEPING you tied to what is NOT going to serve you, or others, or *GOD*!!!
Thus KNOWLEDGE IS IMPERATIVE! We MUST KNOW *GOD'S* WILL concerning sin, and then, what sin is, and also, how it works against HIM, and us! We MUST acknowledge sin for the sin it is, and DESIRE to be freed from it, FOR the purpose of PLEASING *GOD*, and TRULY BEING FREE!!!
Consider it; we are NOT born to be chained to the world, we ARE born to trek THE WAY OF *GOD* while in this world! We are NOT OF this world, we are IN it for a short time, TO SERVE THE LORD, others, and to play part in diminishing the darkness of this world! We are NOT SHINING OF HIM IF we are bogged down by that which we CAN resist, and OVERCOME! One CANNOT LOVE HIM, and LOVE their sin, it just doesn't work that way!!!
Sin will ALWAYS be there, but we CAN resist it, and get past it! But there ARE sins people CLING to, such as lust, addictions, greed, power, and so on! The most damaging sins ARE the ones people are too comfortable in, and consider their lifestyle, for these ARE the ones blinding us, and fooling us!!!
CHRIST JESUS LOVES us, the sinners that we are, HOWEVER, HE TEACHES us THE POWERS TO OVERCOMING THEM, and so, the arguments to REMAIN in chosen sins, is NOT honest!!!
People continue to say, "I was born this way; I was born into this", but TRUTH says you ARE GREATER than all that, and HAVE POWER OVER everything which can captivate you to the point of being lost, and snared! IN CHRIST THERE IS A WAY PAST EVERY SINGLE wrong, and there ARE MANY testimonials out there FOR the sake OF SEEING that VICTORY IS within our reach!!!
Then there is the debate that if we were born into, and have acquired sin, that *GOD* should not hold it against us if we continue in it! THE POINT IS HE MADE US ABLE to eradicate a great deal of sin in our existence, despite it being ever thrown into our paths! We ARE MORE ELEVATED THAN the sins we face, adapt to, or choose to remain in! And THIS IS where the TRUTH of our LOVE for HIM begins to show itself, for those who WANT to continue in their chosen sins HAVE spoken THROUGH their choices!!!
My own existence was a shambles from birth onward; I had a VERY rough first half, but I was NOT about to declare this my lot, NOR to remain chained to all the wrongs, negatives, and sufferings! NO WAY! WHY would I when it COULD be changed, and made better? I bear scars, but NO WAY do these control me, instead they HAVE STRENGTHENED me in a good, and wholesome way, and I HAVE ALWAYS worked towards IMPROVING myself, and my existence!!!
NOTHING of this Earth is our TRUTH; our TRUTH LIES IN *GOD* ALONE, YET, through free will we determine via our choices, whether to be shackled to this plane, or to BE FREED IN *GOD*!!!
Perhaps 'born into this, or born this way' speaks of desires to STAY this way, because GROWTH IS IMMINENT, and in that growth IS CHANGE FOR THE BETTER, FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, JUST, GOOD, and WORTHY OF THE LORD; that is IF we ARE IN HIM!!!

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
The strongest motives against sin, and to enforce holiness, are here stated. Being made free from the reign of sin, alive unto God, and having the prospect of eternal life, it becomes believers to be greatly concerned to advance thereto.
But, as unholy lusts are not quite rooted out in this life, it must be the care of the Christian to resist their motions, earnestly striving, that, through Divine grace, they may not prevail in this mortal state. Let the thought that this state will soon be at an end, encourage the true Christian, as to the motions of lusts, which so often perplex and distress him. Let us present all our powers to God, as weapons or tools ready for the warfare, and work of righteousness, in his service.
There is strength in the covenant of grace for us. Sin shall not have dominion. God's promises to us are more powerful and effectual for mortifying sin, than our promises to God. Sin may struggle in a real believer, and create him a great deal of trouble, but it shall not have dominion; it may vex him, but it shall not rule over him. Shall any take occasion from this encouraging doctrine to allow themselves in the practice of any sin? Far be such abominable thoughts, so contrary to the perfections of God, and the design of his gospel, so opposed to being under grace. What can be a stronger motive against sin than the love of Christ? Shall we sin against so much goodness, and such love?
