This does not excuse the believer's sin, but it underlines that it is possible for Christians still to sin. Scripture encourages us that there will be no fatalities, but warns us that we can still be critically wounded.
As I have said previously, Sanctification IS a process, which IS of THE LORD, manifest through THE HOLY SPIRIT! In this process we learn what is sin, WHY it works against *GOD* and ourselves, and HOW to deal with it, using our self-control coupled with understanding based upon HIS WILL! In this knowledge comes forth, eventually, a detestation of sin, which furthers aids us in resisting, and/or overcoming it!!!
We BECOME ONE with THE LORD *GOD*, CHRIST JESUS, and THE HOLY SPIRIT, THROUGH deliberate diligence, acquired BY remaining IN HIM, HIS WILL, and HIS WORD! We DEVOUR THE WORD with insatiable hunger for TRUTH, and we digest the WISDOM, and sound sensibility therein, which HAS been placed upon a golden platter for us to indulge in to our hearts content, FOR the purpose of us BECOMING our REALITY which IS, oneness in spirit with THE LORD *GOD*...
To the GIFT of GRACE, we enjoin, becoming GRACE...
EPHESIANS 4: 1 & 17-32...
Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
17+++So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
18+++being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
19+++and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
20+++But you did not learn Christ in this way,
21+++if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
22+++that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
23+++and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24+++and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
25+++Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.
26+++BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
27+++and do not give the devil an opportunity.
28+++He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.
29+++Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
30+++Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31+++Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
32+++Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
TRUE FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS OPENS UP TO FAITHFULNESS: FAITHFULNESS IS FIDELITY TO THE LORD, and HIS WILL! In order TO have the kind of FAITH necessary to ARISE, one HAS to be FAITHFUL enough to KNOW THE LORD, HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, and to step ONTO THE PATH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT the dangers involved in this plane ARE UNDERSTOOD, KNOWN, and DIMINISHED, AS we DEVELOP in character, and behaviour WORTHY of our LORD *GOD*, and our inheritance! See, in stripping OFF the old being, we are bringing the TRUE being INTO LIGHT, and thus, it flourishes in the works of THE LORD!!!
People ARE rebellious against the notion of having to give up the world, and to step into the spirit, because they, for one thing, after being brought up in the world, and it's ways, are very comfortable in this state, EVEN though DEEPER within they LONG for their LORD, and so, there HAS been a trimming down of the importance IN what is involved as PARTNERS TO THE COVENANT, allowing people to believe that they CAN exist both in the world, and in *GOD*! True, we ARE in the world, but we are NOT to be tied to the world, instead, we RECOGNIZE this as a passage TO THE KINGDOM, in which, there ARE endless dangers, and complications which make for a rough journey, and which we CANNOT manage on our own, and SO, *GOD*, through CHRIST, gave us HIS SPIRIT to protect, guide, direct, inspire, encourage, and enable us!!!
COLOSSIANS 3: 1-17...
1+++Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2+++Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
3+++For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4+++When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
5+++Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
6+++For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7+++and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.
8+++But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.
9+++Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,
10+++and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him—
11+++a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.
12+++So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
13+++bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
14+++Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
15+++Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16+++Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17+++Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
We LEARN, we GROW, we BECOME our TRUTH, which IS TRUTH ETERNAL! We ARE NEW people IN THE LORD *GOD*, those HE CREATED, not those the world affected!!!
We WANT it ALL, and the world, the enemy tells us we are able to have it all, yet that which is of the world is fading away, and will not share in THE LIGHT! Because of the world, even those who are teach are teaching in ways which do NOT fulfill HIS WILL, nor lead people away from the slippery slide of deception! We are to RECOGNIZE the enticements of this world, and put them behind us, STRAINING, instead, towards what lies ahead; THE PROMISES, and GLORY OF THE LORD *GOD*, and ETERNAL happiness IN THE KINGDOM! ALL of that which we THINK we need in this realm is geared to lead us FARTHER from THE LORD, and our inheritance, BELIEVE it!!!
*GOD* IS ALL WE NEED, for HE, ALONE HOLDS ALL, and EVERYTHING in HIS POWERS! HE CREATES, and HE destroys! HE HAS made CLEAR HIS WILL, and HIS PROMISES! HE HAS DECLARED HIS BLESSINGS, and HIS WRATH! HE HAS SET IT PLAINLY BEFORE ALL to SEE, to EMBRACE, and to UTILIZE, THAT the we ARE brought home! It is NOT easy to renounce the world, and it's ways, and step INTO our TRUTH, but WHEN we SINCERELY SEEK HIM, and our TRUTH, we WILL be EQUIPPED in every way!!!
GRACE does NOT mean we can continue in the flesh, it IS an invitation, and all-inclusive RIGHT TO step INTO the spirit, and become ONE with *GOD*! The flesh is a hindrance to THE TRUTH of existence, now and forever! The spirit IS FREEING, and FREEDOM ETERNAL!!!
