1+++The Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.
2+++But He replied to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
3+++“And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?
4+++“An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” And He left them and went away.
The Pharisees and Sadducees were opposed to each other in principles and in conduct; yet they joined against Christ. But they desired a sign of their own choosing: they despised those signs which relieved the necessity of the sick and sorrowful, and called for something else which would gratify the curiosity of the proud. It is great hypocrisy, when we slight the signs of God's ordaining, to seek for signs of our own devising.
It is the same through the ages, people are typically, dissatisfied with signs from *GOD* which are less than flamboyant, despite their having great purpose, and regardless that people benefit from even the most subtle of BLESSINGS! People still hold out, expecting exhibitionism from THE LORD, who IS able to provide it, but whom CHOOSES to let those who WILL believe, believe from the heart of FAITH!!!
The ancients demanded signs all the time, which THE LORD provided: these signs kept them on THE PATH but a minute, then they would turn away from HIM, and so...
There WILL come a time when THE LORD, in HIS WILL, SHALL shake the HEAVENS, and the Earth, and HE WILL come in HIS SPLENDOR, but know that this will NOT be a time to then decide to believe HIM, for it will be too late, because such people did NOT take the time to notice HIM in the midst of the obvious of this world, or did not care to find HIM as HE walks ever so near with us!!!
As I have said before HE IS GRAND, HE doesn't need to appear in grandeur! HIS works speak for themselves, and ARE evident, but only to those who KNOW HIM, LOVE HIM, and TRUST HIM!!!
For instance, the elders did not perceive HIS impact when HE was with them, yet the Disciples, and/or Apostles did, which they took to heart, revered, and rejoiced in!!!
*GOD* IS *GOD*, there is NO challenging HIS MIGHT; there is NO room for demanding signs, they ARE everywhere in CREATION, and speak clearly of HIS ELEVATION OVER ALL, and EVERYTHING! Thus, we are taught to train our minds to KNOW HIM, HIS WILL, and HIS WAYS, THAT our minds are HEAVENLY inclined, not worldly defined, that we, whether consciously, or not, DON'T challenge HIS HEIGHTENED STATURE OVER all, and everything!!!
"All that sparkles is NOT gold, and all that sparkles does not glitter", speaks in this case, of the difference between the world, the worldly minded, and THE LORD *GOD* ALMIGHTY! The devil is one whom believes in dazzling, and offering dazzle, in order to entice, and convince Mankind to seek what is of the world, which works on far too many, as they chase to be astonished by powers, but THE LORD KNOWS that TRUTH SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, and needs NOTHING hypnotic to fascinate with, because HIS GLORY IS, WAS, and EVERMORE SHALL BE; it is THE END RESULT of our knowledge, understanding, FAITH, and FAITHFULNESS, not the hook!!!
Bottom line; we need proof, we are have NO FAITH; unsurprisingly, proof IS evident all over the board!!!
