I believe that true repentance implies that I forgo that which caused me to sin. I believe that IF I claim THE LORD as my SAVIOUR, in my LOVE, respect, and regard of HIM, I WILL change my ways to align to HIS WILL! This DOESN'T mean that I will never sin again, as sin arises constantly, it means that particular sins which I HAVE the power to control, I HAVE controlled in my walk with HIM, for HE is FAR greater to me, than the silly things which I did that kept me removed from HIM!!!
Repentance is a change of heart towards sin, an acknowledgement of said sin, and a change of behaviours to alleviate in the least that sin, or to eradicate, at the most, that sin! I have overcome all of my previous, habitual sins, except for one, and I found little, if any discomfort in ridding of them; although the last one is the toughest, though it should have been the easiest...
NONE of us will be perfect in our walk with *GOD*, instead it is the DESIRE to TAKE ON HIS NATURE that KEEPS us in step with HIM, as we FOLLOW HIM, and adapt to HIS example for our lives! Some habitual sins are extremely tough to rid of, but MUCH of that HAS to do with our own mentalities! ALL sin, BY *GOD* CAN be eradicated; we just don't WANT to, or we have allowed our selfish needs, and addictions to rule us, which is another matter of sin, BECAUSE THE LORD IS to RULE us, and nothing else, albeit HE KNOWS FIRSTHAND, our struggle with sin, and thus, REMAINS MERCIFUL to our plight, and fight with it!!!!
Some misunderstand instructions of THE WORD, and take it out of context, using it negatively! *GOD* KNOWS we will die in sin, HOWEVER, as Paul believes, so do I:
It must be noted that it is not biblical for a person to sin habitually and continually as a lifestyle and still be a believer (1 John 3:8-9). This is why Paul admonishes us to “examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5). As Christians, we do stumble, but we do not live a lifestyle of continual, unrepentant sin. All of us have weaknesses and can fall into sin, even if we don’t want to. Even the apostle Paul did what he didn’t want to do because of the sin at work in his body (Romans 7:15). Like Paul, the response of the believer is to hate the sin, repent of it and ask for divine grace to overcome it (Romans 7:24-25). Although we need not fall because of God’s sufficient grace, sometimes we do because we rely upon our insufficient strength. When our faith grows weak and, like Peter, we deny our Lord in word or in life, even then there is still a chance to repent and be forgiven of our sin.
We should understand that we ARE ABOVE wrong behaviours, and that IF we cling to them, we are yet, in the flesh, and therefore, selfish, and uncontrolled in our lives! We TRAIN like heck to meet the standards of our TRUTH, BECAUSE it IS our TRUTH, and IS THE WILL OF *GOD*! We TAKE ON CHRIST'S example of living FOR THE FATHER'S WILL OVER all else, NOT that we will be perfect in it, as HE, but that we UNDERSTAND the reasons to, and LOVE HIM enough to do so. It IS for our GOOD that we become of the spirit, and as like HIM as is feasible, as well as for the good of the whole world, and of course, HIS GLORY!!!
It isn't that we CAN rid of all sin, instead that we WANT to be the RIGHTEOUSNESS WE ARE IN HIS name, and for the life of me, and others, HOW is that possible when we CHOOSE to remain in the same sins for the rest of our days, save for those who are weakened beyond their own strength? To DESIRE to PLEASE HIM accounts for MUCH, and IS the sign of THE SPIRIT working in the spirit! It is a matter of knowledge, understanding, HONESTY, and allegiance TO THE TRUTH of our lives, which is NOT about this time, instead what IS to come!!!
