In which the inhabitants are on a seemingly, endless quest;
For they find it momentarily, in spurts, and bits,
Like parts of different puzzles, nothing ever quite fits...
Throughout these lands, there is much delusion,
And great strain from illusion;
Few find what they are looking for,
No matter how they search, they are in the same place as before...
They fill themselves with dreams, with schemes of every kind,
As they strive to manifest what begins in the mind;
Dissatisfied, discouraged, they pacify themselves with things they ought not,
Often, they are aged, when they realize the mesh, into which they are caught...
THE LORD is in them, but they keep HIM distanced, they keep HIM at bay,
Not wishing, not willing to come to HIM, except in the very least way;
So, they stumble, they trip, they fall; with many being, to their desires bound,
Void of understanding that they are lost, and can easily, be found...
Preoccupation with things, with visions, with what doesn't really matter,
And what they never achieve, has the tendency to shatter
Their lives, which they insist exist for enjoyment, and pleasure,
Blinded by deception, they have no sense of measure...
It is so sad to watch, to notice, as one hears their troubled cries,
They remain obstinate, believing over TRUTH, all the lies;
Without much clue, they continue to chase what they may never find,
While the enemy, does tighten the bind...
Then in the end, there will be bewilderment, as they realize that they missed the mark,
As the reality of their purpose, takes them deeper into the dark;
There they wail, they scream, they ache, they long to make things right,
But alas, the LIGHT has passed, and they are one with the night...
