What we notice is the work of pride, judgement, and assumption of being right over others! In Families where there is pride, arrogance, and puffed up conviction, it is to be expected that outsiders, or those not deemed worthy, are going to suffer, in ways small to serious, especially if these Families are close-knit, and incite one another through various means, such as gossip, slander, and presumption of being better than others! Most Families have at least one scapegoat, and this can be as distanced as one who Married into the Family, no matter how far down the lineage...
I know people whom are clinically, and possibly chronically depressed from what their Family has done to them, over time! They hurt so bad they can't quit thinking about it, and suffer, often quietly! They have a most difficult time removing themselves from the situation, and for assessing it unattached, even if on medications, and/or, therapy! Very sad...
Few stop to consider how the Children are being influenced! Everything they see, and hear, HAS long-term impact upon their development! The negative, and adverse examples the Adults display, take on a whole new life, and intensity in them!!!
It is so difficult for us to realize that anyone who attempts to hurt us, harm us, or belittle us, has little, or no LOVE of *GOD* in them, even if they are Family! Rivalry is one of the most confounding problems humanity faces, and yet, little is done to alleviate it, or is taught about it! The puffed up pride that runs through societies is ignored, largely, and allowed to foster, then spread! You might imagine that people would grow past such behaviours by a certain age, yet, it often gets worse, as such people are never shown their errs, or what harm they have done!!!
Is it necessary to hurt, or harm others, especially where it is not warranted? WHAT does doing so profit???
Generally speaking, although not always true, someone who causes another to hurt, especially by means of the mouth, is insecure, and finds an empty security in the damage they wrought! Sometimes they are just evil, sometimes they are too far gone, sometimes they are ignorant, sometimes they are simply, caught up in, unaware of the far reaching damage they cause, because they have never been taught differently, or better!!!
Those being hurt by Family members, often figure that there must be something wrong with them, otherwise, why would this happen? And, many of these, since they are Family, find it difficult to speak up for themselves, or to address the issues, so, they take it, and carry this weight around for years, which creates psychological, emotional, even physical problems for them...
CHRIST JESUS, THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH, of which we are the body, URGES us to be Family, but I have to say, it is unlikely that HE is speaking of Family the way we know it! Instead, HE is speaking of Family bred of *GOD*, and LOVE, with clear knowledge, and understanding of HIM, HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, and HIS LOVE! We have to go OVER the human forms of many understandings, in order to tap into the wholesome empowerment of HIS WAYS!!!
For those of you suffering from Family, look UP to *GOD*, and let HIM lead you to some HIGHER grounds of understanding, and TRY to remove yourself from the carnal instincts which the pain of other people's ignorance has left in you! And FORGIVE these, even though they don't seem to deserve it! PRAY for them, and ASK *GOD* to not only FORGIVE them, but to SHOW them the RIGHT WAY!!!
