TUESDAY'S THOUGHTS: EMOTIONAL MASTERY...

Humans react often, with their emotions; it is said that there are 6 basic emotions, they are, anger, fear, disgust, happiness, sadness, and surprise. Then, there are 8 primary emotions grouped on a positive or negative basis; joy versus sadness; anger versus fear; trust versus distrust; and surprise versus anticipation. Some basic emotions can be modified to form complex emotions.
The complex emotions could arise from cultural conditioning or association combined with the basic emotions. Alternatively, similar to the way primary colors combine, primary emotions could blend to form the full spectrum of human emotional experience. For example, interpersonal anger and disgust could blend to form contempt. Relationships exist between basic emotions, resulting in positive or negative influences...

Emotions are fine; no aspect of our mental life is more important to the quality and meaning of our existence than emotions. They are what make life worth living. That being understood, and accepted, emotions are also, where the enemy of *GOD* deploys much of his wicked arsenal! You see, when we react with emotions, instead of THINKING first, and TURNING TO THE LORD, we are open targets for the oppressors tactics! Thus, DISCIPLINE, which requires knowledge, and understanding, in order to CONTROL the emotions instinctively, and instantly, that we are not carried away on them!!!

Dig; if someone makes you angry, and you act on this anger, or store it within, it festers, and has the potential to become a monster of hostility, or worse! WHEN we seek to control our emotions, we are more likely to choose right, just, and good reactions, regardless of that which created the emotion in the first place! NOT all emotions are healthy, and certainly, not all are unhealthy; we only need to LEARN HOW to use the mind over them, and this is best done, for the *GODLY* person, through development incurred from THE WORD; for therein, we are taught such as virtue, LOVE, self-control, release of the world's hold on us, and so forth, THAT the enemy has less, and less to work with against us...

I am a sensitive, emotional person, just ask anyone who knows me, and for sure, my stomach:))) I am LEARNING to THINK before I become enmeshed in my emotional reaction to ANY given, because THE LORD has SHOWN me, through HIS WORD, the dangers that I face IF I am trapped BY my emotional reactions! For instance, IF someone should do something to me, that caused me to step aside from LOVE, forgiveness, and the rights of reactions, I would become slave to that incident, and then, as the emotions swell, they overtake logic, sense, and sensibility, allowing my mind to seek justice, and resolve, though perhaps not in a righteous way! See what I mean???

Listen, isn't it emotional reaction that leads us to keep sinning? Aren't emotions at the root of passion, desire, lust, greed, anger, hatred, and other negatives? Don't emotions take us over the top, good, or bad, if they are not controlled, and contained? We ARE to MASTER our emotions, and to awaken the spirit within, that is NOT controlled by emotional reactions...

Our FOCUS, and CENTER IS THE LORD *GOD*, and HIS WILL, LEADS us according to HIS WAY, IF we take on what HE has prescribed for our lives! SELF-CONTROL IN ALL matters, is crucial, and vital to our relationship with HIM! This means we THINK with the knowledge, and understanding we have taken to the spirit, from HIS WISDOM, and instructions! This IS for our safety, for the greater good of ALL, and FOR HIS GLORY!!!

TEMPERANCE is mandatory, as it MODERATES what we have difficulty controlling in this world! When we are moderate, we are balanced, not giving in to excess, right, or wrong! There are endless ways the enemy attacks us, and so, there are endless areas of understanding for us to embrace...

We are raised in an emotional environment, but as always, what we are used to, is NOT *GOD'S* WILL, or WAY; instead, it is one of the greatest traps the deceiver has devised, BECAUSE we ARE so emotionally geared, charged, and reactive. Mastery of emotions leads to maturity of spirit...

Just the introduction to a vast area of understanding, something to think about...

May *GOD* BLESS, and BE with us, as we race towards HIM! May we PRAISE HIM, WORSHIP HIM, REJOICE IN HIM, give THANKS to HIM, and HONOUR HIM BY striving to understand HIS GENIUS WAYS, and plan! MUCH LOVE, have a BLESSED day, and take care...
