The body we have, IS a temple of the LORD, *GOD*, that HIS HOLY SPIRIT might reside within us, and, we are to have respect for this temple, by NOT desecrating what belongs to *GOD*!!!It goes beyond keeping it healthy in function; *GOD* demands that we abstain from certain practices, for as HIS HOLY Altars, which, were dragged through the ancient deserts by caravans of Men, this temple, the body, IS subject to HIS DIVINITY! I was reading 1 CHRONICLES last night; when David was being placed as the King of Israel, he thought it would be good to bring *GOD'S* Sacred Ark to the City of David, but, Uzzah, stuck out his hand to steady the Ark, being carried by the Levites, and, *GOD* struck him down, dead! This Ark is Sacred, and, BELONGS to *GOD*, for HIS purposes, just AS the body we are housed in! We ARE obligated to adhere to HIS commands, concerning the body, even though, we have NOT been taught, or, informed to any great degree, to do so!!!
1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17...
16/ Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17/ If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:13-20...
13/ "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food," but God will do away with both the one and the other. The body, however, is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body;
14/ God raised the Lord and will also raise us by his power.
15/ Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take Christ's members and make them the members of a prostitute? Of course not!
16/ (Or) do you not know that anyone who joins himself to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For "the two," it says, "will become one flesh."
17/ But whoever is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
18/ Avoid immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the immoral person sins against his own body.
19/ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
20/ For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.
COLOSSIANS 3:5-10...
5/ Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry.
6/ Because of these the wrath of God is coming (upon the disobedient).
7/ By these you too once conducted yourselves, when you lived in that way.
8/ But now you must put them all away: anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.
9/ Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices
10/ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its creator.
There is even more Scripture about the body being a temple, but, the above ones invoke thought enough! *GOD* has said, "Be HOLY, because I am HOLY!", and, HE MEANS IT! HE WANTS HIS Chosen to be ABOVE the world, FREE from the shackles, and, harnesses of the world, that they CAN live THROUGH HIM, IN HIS GLORY!!!
I tell you what, since Adam, and, Eve, Satan has done an unfathomable amount of damage to *GOD'S* people, THROUGH deception, and, COMPLACENCY in the minds of the people! He has created tendencies, and, presumed normalities, in this life, which LEAD us FARTHER from the TRUTH than imaginable! We scoff at certain DIVINE DECREES, in our state of arrogance, defiance, and, complacency, especially, those of the COVENANT of PEACE/SALVATION, HOWEVER, KNOW that we ARE being misled, and, fornication, lust, adultery, addictions, abuses, and, other such, REMAINS fornication, lust, adultery, addictions, and abuses, along with the other actions AGAINST HOLINESS, no matter the date, and, WILL remove one from GRACE, so it is written, so it shall be! Never forget, impure thoughts, CAN LEAD us to impure actions!!!
WHY is it SO difficult to understand that when you accepted CHRIST as your SAVIOUR, you WERE to become as dead to the world, take off the old self, and, put on the NEW, IMPROVED self, and, NEVER relent in PERFECTING THE SPIRIT???
I, personally, HAVE come a LONG way in my overcoming of that which DEFILES the HOLY TEMPLE of *GOD*, my body, though, I have one thing left to overcome! If I can do it, anyone can! I will NEVER stop perfecting myself in the name of CHRIST, *GOD*!!!
It is NOT easy, in fact, it is downright DIFFICULT, but, I ADHERE to the WORD, that tells me, that I was purchased AT a PRICE, and, to me, that PRICE, or, GIFT, IS WORTHY of ANY enduring I might have to persevere, for I am NOT LIVING FOR THE WORLD, INSTEAD, for *GOD*!!!
Be AS a babe in the hands of your LORD, *GOD*!!!!
1 PETER 1:17-23...
17/ Now if you invoke as Father him who judges impartially according to each one's works, conduct yourselves with reverence during the time of your sojourning,
18/ realizing that you were ransomed from your futile conduct, handed on by your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold
19/ but with the precious blood of Christ as of a spotless unblemished lamb.
20/ He was known before the foundation of the world but revealed in the final time for you,
21/ who through him believe in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
